LIGHT SURGES INTO MY BRAIN...
"A POINT OF LIGHT EXPLODES, it opens and golden light surges in to my brain from
the center of my head. Like liquid light it fills me up and at the same time the
universe is born, the light expands forming energies that divide and merge
forming particles eventually forming atoms, molecules which form stardust stars
solar systems galaxies, planets and the they form life, living cells that
connect to form a physical brain, manifestation of the cosmic mind and
consciousness, eventually reaching my cortex and I open my eyes and remember my

My center is the center of the universe, the circle is complete! I am

me, all life is me and I am through this small body I am complete. My personal
mind goes in to absolute shock, into hysterical laughter that I cannot stop. I am

As we were talking well into the
night at the end of our Energy Enhancement Course at Iguassu together.
After he has removed many energy
blockages over the last four weeks. Blockages above the crown chakra in the
Antahkarana which were preventing him from re-connecting with the Source of all
Life. He described one of the blockages between one million and Infinity of
chakras above the head as a dense translucent crystal which was incredibly
difficult to remove, different from the other blockages which he had found below
it which were dense and covered with a black tarry substance or blood and which
were more easy to transmute and dissolve.
We eventually get into a state of
energy transfer. We both feel it as white light flowing from one to the other in
an incredibly intense way which lasts for two hours. At the end of that time I
perceive an initiation which is taking place on the astral plane. Surrounded by
a group of ascended masters I introduce him to the chief initiator who uses the
rod of initiation to touch his third eye with the intense energies of initiation
so that his energies can never again drop into that state we call normal waking
consciousness.

Since that time I am always connected to and able to source the white light
from above my head. Many times during this process I just forget to breathe
as though my breathing is just naturally suspended. I am now living in the
Light!! "
My energies are naturally
far higher than when I arrived on the Energy Enhancement course just two
weeks ago. I am experiencing the fruits of meditation which normally arrive,
if they do, after twenty years of meditation and it has only taken me two
weeks.
This is the first meditation course I have been on. I have an injured knee
from a few months ago in a motor cycle accident, yet the knee is now healed of
its blockages and of its pain here on the Energy Enhancement Course and I am sitting in
meditation for more than three hours a day, on the ground in the easy
meditation posture, here in the light and working on more of my deep
internal blockages.

Also I noticed as soon as Satchidanand emailed me, I got a down-pouring of light
from above the crown which kept charging me up the rest of the day – and my
cravings died out! Then I realized the cravings were ego-blockages and that I
did not want them.
This meditation 3 - The Energy Enhancement Course Level One, Initiation Three
Streaming Video... is great! I've done it some more and it's incredibly
powerful. I don't know why it isn't more well known or taught?

It's really bringing up little
blockages which are complaining while being pushed down into the earth's core to
get purified. The hot fire energy has gotten much stronger in my body while
doing the practice, mostly the base of the spine heats up, but also the middle
of the spine. There are lots of little blockages being noticed. But I'm pushing
them out.
I think this is my new favorite meditation practice! It's far more powerful than
the normal orbit practice.
Have practiced it some more – my body
gets very hot during the practice – just like the video says.

My mother came into the
room and told me she 'couldn't be near me' because I was giving off too much
heat – like a radiator! After this I noticed that by thinking about certain
areas of my body I could send the intense heat to that area!
So now this meditation is definitely the
most powerful one I have got. Very impressive. I do an in breath/out breath
orbit and then hold for a moment at the earth-core. Then I bring up the energy
again.
Aha! I can see you've used a
lot of my emails in the text, I don't know if I should feel embarrassed or
flattered.
I've had another experience today, which
is light surrounding a part of my selfish ego, and my ego submitted. The light
has won for this issue. It is no longer possible to tolerate some of my selfish
behaviours.
Now I feel very peaceful.

Thanks! I want to update you.
I underwent a profound change in my energy last night after my main ego blockage
submitted.
However today I noticed with more light in my system, that there are more,
smaller ego blockages which are there and which talk to me. I look forward to
resolving them. I'll now paste what I wrote last night.
Now I write here what I experienced between my last comment and reading her
reply, written just below:
I had to lay down to do some meditation just now, and I felt like there were
‘two me’s, the first me was this little black smudge of an ego, the ‘I’, the
selfish ego, or the part which basically functions for it’s own agenda. This guy
basically pleasure-seeks and avoids pain/responsibility and is good at
justifying it’s reasons and making excuses.
The second ‘me’, was this overwhelmingly peaceful, white light. It was so
powerful it was literally drowning my little dark ego. So my ego had this light
just drowning it from all directions. Imagine a war scene where the dark side is
just a little blob of dark and there is hundreds or thousands of times as much
light surrounding it from all angles.
Then also during this process, I had to see through the ‘light’s eyes to take a
look at me…and I saw all these faults. I saw this creeping little dark ego who
was so unaware of everything, it just kept making excuses for it’s actions ‘but’
this, and ‘but’ that. It just kept wanting pleasurable things and to run away
from responsibility. I had to take a long good look at this guy, this type of
me.
So my little dark ego, the ‘I’, just …well, just gave up. He just said ‘Okay!!
Okay…I give up! I give up! Surrender!’ So then I started to feel like I was
going to cry. All this light just smothered me, my ego and gave it a lot of love
and peace. Then I felt this vortex of white light form in my heart – it felt
quite small, maybe an inch or so big.
Then I felt all this peaceful
energy throughout my whole body – it felt like cosmic/space/universe energy.
Something like a peaceful energy from space (as if I had a whole entire universe
inside my chest and body with the heart at the center). After that happened, I
was getting light flood my body and I just felt like crying and surrendering. I
suddenly felt this rush of what felt like crystalline white light flood into my
body and fill my arms and legs and whole body. So I had a new ‘layer’ of energy
body or something like this.
I think it’s a point of no-return now! I can only surrender now. What seems to
be filling my body is this type of energy which is peace and light, it only
seems to want what’s right for everyone. I hope it remains. I don’t know how
much of my ego I let go off…I wish all of it will go now.
I honestly don’t believe I will go back to being how I used to, because too much
of my consciousness or awareness feels grounded into ‘light’, so if I can keep
seeing from the light’s viewpoint, I can quickly pick out faults which I might
otherwise do.
Phew, what an intense evening. But I feel so peaceful! I seem quite satisfied to
just drown myself in this light.
I want to give an update on this today. I’m pleased to say that the energy of
soft love and peace which flooded my body last night, has remained with me
today. I feel like a completely different person. There has been a loss of
desire, an increase in peace.
I threw out some supplements and felt like that type of thing has now become
redundant.
Today I noticed that small ego blockages were in my aura. They are much weaker
than the one which submitted to the light last night, they are more deeply
buried.
I hope to continue to resolve and integrate these fragments of ego blockage in
future.

In the second stanza of the Poetic Edda poem Völuspá,
the völva
(a shamanic seeress) reciting the poem to the god Odin says that she
remembers far back to "early times", being raised by

(giants), recalls

and when Yggdrasil was a seed ("glorious tree of good measure, under the

In stanza 19, the völva says:

In stanza 34 of the poem Hávamál,
Odin describes how he once sacrificed himself to himself by hanging on a
tree symbolising the sacrifice of the Selfish Competitive Ego in
Samadhi. The stanza reads:

In the stanza that follows, Odin describes how he had no food nor
drink there, that he peered downward, and that

While Yggdrasil is not mentioned by name in the poem and other trees
exist in Norse mythology, the tree is near universally accepted as
Yggdrasil, and if the tree is Yggdrasil, then the name Yggdrasil
directly relates to this story.[12]

spiritual alpha, beta and gamma particles. Trauma-Formed Negative Karmic
Mass is Ignorance because it cuts you off from that knowledge which is
higher than the Mind.
Through the Seven Step Process we also integrate these
purified Talents with the higher chakras - thus increasing their size,
complexity, and ability to handle more and higher energies, and eventually
channel the Energy of Love, the Second ray Energies.
This process of Integration is like fusion of one
crystal with another in a
"Skull Melt" where we align and integrate
the Angel Talents with the Higher Chakras like crystals - the angels become
aligned in crystalline matrices - which increases also their speed and
purity of purpose.
This fusion process starts with the Astral Initiation

INTRODUCTION..
Portion on Contemplation.
When I was
five my Father and Mother asked me what I wanted in Life and I said, "Happiness"
My father said, "Wouldn't you like a Rolls Royce?" But I said, "No, Happiness
will do.." When I was Seven I had the experience of seeing some of my past
lives. When I was Fourteen I saw all my useless future life and at the end of it
I saw myself dying and for three days I really knew I was going to die. I
started doing Yoga every night without telling anyone. When I was Twenty-one I
had exactly the same experience of seeing my future and my death and I started
reading Gurdjieff and Spiritual Books. When I was 28 I read the words, "The Yoga
Sutras of Patanjali" in the prospectus for a Yoga Teacher training Course. Just
reading these words caused such a reaction in my being, that I knew I had to
take the Course. I completed the Course, I trained in Aikido, I started to
Meditate every day and after a year of preparation I met Zen Master Hogen. I met
Swami Satchidananda a couple of years later. At the age of 32 I became

When I was Seven Years old my
mother asked me if I wanted to learn how to play the piano, "Not this time" I
replied. Because I had been there, done that got the T-shirt. This lifetime was
to be my lifetime devoted towards Illumination. Yet the talents still exist and
is one of the reasons I have become the Director of Videos of Sacred Dance
performed by Swami Devi Dhyani in High Definition moving towards 5.1 surround

music and dance as a method for the transmission of Kundalini Energy.

However, anything can be infused with

I remember my first reading of the
"Hobbit" by Tolkien at the age of eight.
I remember going to the Louvre in
Paris and seeing a painting ascribed to The Master Leonardo Da Vinci which I have never
seen since either live or in any art book. Apparently they had dragged it up
from the basement for a week. On seeing it I laughed and burst into tears at the
same time. Thus are the effects of genuine spiritual energy infused into the Art

2. The restraint of the
mental
modifications within the mind-stuff is Yoga.
In
Sanskrit, this sutra is.. Yogas Citta Vritti Nirodha
Yogas
comes from the Sanskrit, "Yug" meaning Yoke.
The Image is that of the normal
human Yoked in alignment with or in Union with the Infinite peace of the Higher Self - The Soul
Chakra and higher chakras above the Head.
This Yoking or Union with
the Higher self is Enlightenment.
At the end of the "Wizard
of Oz" movie the guy driving the horse and carriage, with his big moustache is
meant to represent Gurdjieff.
The traditional Picture
from the Bhagavad Gita; of Arjuna
- the good man and Krishna - his Soul - driving the chariot, yoked to the Horses
of the emotions is symbolic of this
Illumination.
Yogas
or Yoga really means Enlightenment -
A connection with your Infinite Peace. So something has to connect with
something. In alignment with the Holy Trinity or Sat Chid Anand these three
things are really one in Enlightenment. God, the connecting
ANTAHKARANA
and You. Problem is usually this connection is not in place. It is blocked off
by Energy Blockages. Patanjali recommends techniques of Yoga and
meditation in order to remove them and achieve unity, Illumination,
Enlightenment, Your Deep Inner Peace!
Energy Enhancement recommends,
in alignment with Patanjali the process of Meditation in order to remove these
blocking Energy Blockages. Not just Meditation - Super Advanced meditation which
quickly and efficiently removes all pain-caused Energy Blockages.
A
Soul Infused Personality occurs when there is a fusion - a hot process like
welding - with the already created and purified angel crystalline Soul
Chakra above the head. This is allowed by experience creating the purity and
alignment of the personality which is really a Mental Modification, in
computer-speak a Virtual Machine, existing within the Citta, a God-Created
chakra Computer given to each one of us at birth.
In normal humanity, many different
Sub-Personality Virtual Machines exist within the one Citta-Computer.
The aim is to remove all negativity to achieve Unity!!
The Citta
is the Mind Stuff which is an aligned crystalline chakra computer machine made
up of pure Angels and thus is a purified mechanism in alignment with the
will of God.
One of the many functions of this computer, usually
prevented by the Vrittis -Sub-Personality-energy blockage-ego-desires, is connection with
the Soul so that it can absorb the intelligent energy, which in Kashmir Shaivism is called Chit-Shakti, of all the Chakras above the head which directs
the alignment of the human being with the will of God.

are the Mental Modifications - computer programs within the Citta-Computer

Desires in many states of evolution or they are created by other people and
implanted into our minds. This is the normal process of evolution
where psychic structures within the mind are created to perform functions, they
are your Talents.
First, these functions are in states surrounded by a perverted substance called
Trauma created impurity filled Negative Karmic Mass
because it is created
by Trauma or pain, or that which is against the will of God. We call this impure
structure an Energy Blockage.
The process is that these
perverted talents are then increased in size to create more functionality and
then purified of Negative karmic mass in order to create a true purified talent
in alignment with the will of God.
Nirodha,
the Restraint of the Mental Modifications or Energy Blockages, involves evolutionary
Purification and Alignment of the Human Created Mental Modifications which
always start off as Energy
Blockages or Angels surrounded
with Negative karmic Mass which prevent the non-egotistical working of the
mind, as with a purified and aligned mechanism which we are on the way to
creating, through evolution of the
thoughtform.
Purification,
the removal of the Energy Blockages
Trauma created Negative Karmic Mass.
And
Alignment, the evolutionary
adjustment of the impure Energy
Blockages, impressions or samskaras, which create the symptoms of
the Energy Blockages called Mental Modifications, so that it does not work
egotistically against the Will of God which usually occurs through right
knowledge created by experience which has the ability to beat the crap or
Negative Karmic Mass out of the Blockages thus purifying them.
This process can be given
as the normal karmic Alchemical purification of the Dross
out of the Gold Ore, thus creating pure Enlightened Gold. As my Master - One
of the Alchemical Tamil Siddars of South India -
Swami Satchidananda, told me, "What is the way of the world for the
purification of Humanity? First we heat up the Gold Ore to 1000 degrees and
then we take it out of the furnace and put it on the Anvil. And then WE BEAT
THE CRAP OUT OF IT!!
Meditation as a means of purification, of course, is
much more quick and Aesthetic!! than these painful and violent ways of the
world which slowly purify by means of experience through
the immutable laws of karma.
Karma
returns experience, good for good, and bad for bad.
In the beginning the return
is slow, but as we evolve the return becomes much quicker coming back even
within a second if we are sensitive. It is like a car travelling a narrow
road with walls at each side. It is a feedback mechanism so that if we turn off
the straight and narrow then we hit the wall which returns us into the center of
the road. "The road is straight and it is narrow with the thinness of a razor" -
Jesus Christ
This slow method of
experience created by karma takes many lifetimes as it removes that which is
negative out of the impure personality thus
purifying it for the Soul Fusion of Enlightenment.
Thus meditation as a means
of removing and transmuting the trauma - formed negative karmic mass in seconds
which through karma can take many lifetimes to do the same thing - if at all -
Meditation can speed up the evolution of a person exponentially.
Rather than developing
functionality slowly, we can remove the NKM from any blockage in ourselves or
any other person, purify it through the Seven Step Process of Energy Enhancement
Level 2, and plug it into our chakra structure thus increasing the size and
functionality of our psychic bodies very quickly.
In this way we can attain
the psychic body of an Ascended Master very quickly. An Ascended Master or
Chohan channels energy to the earth from outside the planet. Oftentimes he is
connected to his shrine or Mahasamadhi which energetically connects him to this
earth.
3. Then the Seer (Self) abides in His own nature.
After the restraint
through meditation of the Mental Modifications we need to purify and remove
samkaras or Energy
Blockages by purification of their trauma created, pain
created, negative karmic mass we have a pure mind filled with purified Thoughtform Mechanisms.
At that point we have two chakras, the Crown Chakra
connected to all the Seven Chakras in the body and the Soul Chakra. Like two
neutron stars circling each other, eventually they combine and fuse together
as one pure aligned crystalline matrix - non resistant to the energies of
the higher chakras. We have come hOMe. We are living in the highest heart.
We abide in our own nature.
"All sages and Saints for thousands of years live from Prajna
Paramita" - Buddha, the Heart Sutra
When we have a perfect
connection with all of the chakras above the head, by removing all the Energy
Blockages between the chakras above the head and within the lower bodies, then
we can easily put our attention in any level or chakra above the head.
If we choose to put our
attention high then it is as if we can reside there.
That which is lower - the
body - can disappear and leave us in Heaven. By projecting ourselves out of the
purified body we can attain the same state that we attain normally when the body
dies, thus, "Die before you die" of the Sufis. This ability normally appears
before Illumination.
Abiding in your own nature means that you abide in your Deep
Inner Peace.
4. At other times (the Self appears to) assume the forms of the
Mental Modifications.
Normally the Energy
Blockage samskaras - the seeds of desire either self created or implanted by
others and their symptoms are in charge of us.
We operate through the
Sub-Personality or Talent Blockages or the Mental Modifications of Energy
Blockages, the Ego, not yet
purified or healed or grounded of their Trauma Pain Caused Negative Karmic
Mass.
Normally we exist in the Pain Body of Eckhard Tolle. We are
surrounded by Pain filled Energy Blockages. We exhibit their form.
And not only us. Everyone on this planet lives their pain,
exists in their pain, acts from their pain, some more than others.
If you want to remove all negativity and live in your Deep
Inner Peace, Patanjali gives all the techniques. Energy Enhancement teaches
them. Energy Enhancement Students quickly remove their Energy Blockages and
achieve Unity; Deep Inner Peace!!
5. Their are five kinds of
Mental Modifications which are either painful or painless.

They are:
Right Knowledge.
Misconception.
Verbal delusion.
Sleep.
Memory.
Here we are talking
about the Evolution and purification of Energy Blockage Thoughtforms from those
containing pain caused Negative Karmic Mass which can never be the truth - a misconception - to
those grounded and purified of pain - Right Knowledge or the Truth. That
which is in alignment with the Will of God.
The Angel created
functionality which adds in to the chakras is either in alignment with God or
painless as it has been purified of Trauma - formed negative karmic Mass or not
in alignment with God as it is striated with and surrounded by Trauma - formed
negative karmic Mass.

. The sources of right knowledge are:
Direct perception.
Inference.
Scriptural testimony.
Direct Perception, Intuition
or the use of
Hypothesis, which is the start of
Intuition
or Direct Perception, is the Psychic Power of being in communication with the truth,
or God.
Inference is the use of the mind to check this
Hypothetical intuitively given
truth.
Scriptural Testimony is when that truth, spoken by an
Enlightened saint is written down - and
this truth should always be checked against Direct Perception, because
it is very easy for this Scriptural testimony to be misunderstood, mis -
explained, mistranslated and
otherwise corrupted by a line being added or taken away as so very often
happens - thus Scriptural Testimony can easily be misunderstood.

. Misconception occurs when knowledge of something is not based upon its true form.
What is the truth? well it is that which can never be changed
and the only thing which never changes is God. God is an infinity of chakras
above the head and he communicates by energy stepped down through all the
other chakras. When that energy is distorted by being transmitted through
Trauma or Pain caused Negative Karmic Mass which coats all Blockage
Thoughtforms then it is not true, it is misconceived. It is created a lie by
being transmitted through a lie.

. An image that arises on hearing mere words without any reality (as its basis) is verbal
delusion.

. That mental modification supported by cognition of nothingness is sleep.
The finest highest energy
is God. The buddhists refer to it as, "Nothing" or Nirvana. Thus, "I know
nothing" is a Zen joke as it really means, "I know God" Most people refresh
themselves every night in sleep when they get in contact with the energies of
God.
11. When a mental modification of an object previously experienced and not forgotten comes
back to consciousness, that is memory.
12. These mental modifications are restrained by practice and non-attachment.
Meditation -
this and the following sutras
are talking about Meditation and Mastery of Energy Connections beween people
which is the way we are vampirised of our Bio-Energy by everyone around us.
Energy Enhancement Level Four teaches about the Mastery of the non - attachment
of Energy Connections
and the Mastery of Relationships.
13. Of these two, effort toward steadiness of mind is practice.
14. Practice becomes firmly grounded when well attended to for a long time, without break
and in all earnestness.
15. The consciousness of self-mastery in one who is free from craving for objects seen or
heard about is non-attachment.
16 When there is non-thirst for even the gunas due to realization
of the Purusha (true self), that is supreme non-attachment.
The Gunas are Tamas
- negativity, Rajas - Action with a little Negativity, Sattvas - Purity. These
Gunas are constituents of Nature. All Nature can be discerned as torpid slothful
Tamas or active directionless Rajas or Pure and Purposeful Sattvas. Not only can
human beings be discerned as being in the state of one of the Gunas, but also
energy blockages too. As we purify them, they go through all the Guna
transformations untill they are completely purified.
As we transmute Energy
Blockages by means of the Energy Enhancement Level 2 Seven Step Process then the
Energy
Blockages too transmute in stages like those of the Gunas. It is a little bit
like the Battle between Merlin and the Witch in Disneys Cartoon about the young
King Arthur, "The Sword in the Stone" where they transmute from animal to animal
as they fight. Eventually Merlin turns into a virus and defeats the wicked witch
by giving her dragon transformation a cold!!
Indeed reference to the
Gunas in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali means we are in the realm of
blockage transmutation by means of the Samyama of Patanjali Book Three, which
progress quickly during the Energy Enhancement Seven Step Process to purify and
transmute Energy
Blockages. In the terms of this sutra, normally we need to
focus when we transmute a blockage. This sutra is saying that around one who is
enlightened, everything functions naturally by itself without thinking about it.
Around every enlightened being is a tornado of energy, the Buddhafield, which
naturally transmutes everything which comes into it. This is supreme
non-attachment.
17 Samprajnata samadhi (distinguished contemplation) is accompanied by reasoning,
reflecting, rejoicing and pure I-am-ness.
Samadhi means Sam - with,
Adhi - The Light. "Brighter than 10,000 suns it shines alone" Connection with
the Chakras above the Head.
18 By the firmly convinced practice of the complete cessation of mental modifications, the
impressions only remain. This is the other samadhi (asamprajnata or non-distinguished).
The Vrittis or Mental
Medifications are merely symptoms of the underlying samskara Energy
Blockages or
the seeds of desire. As these symptoms die away, sometimes the blockage desires
of the selfish addicted competitive ego are hiding.

Those who merely leave their physical bodies and attain the state of celestial
deities, or those who get merged in Nature, still have rebirth.
There
are some bad people who train only to achieve siddhis or psychic powers and not
to complete this course of Yoga and become enlightened. These people are afraid
of dying. The only legitimate method of going through the death process without
losing your memory is to become enlightened. All else fails eventually. They can
project themselves out of their physical bodies and horribly enter into the
bodies of others lifetime after lifetime. Carlos Castaneda says some Brujas can
project themselves onto the astral plane and live in privately created universes
- in the state of celestial deities - for hundreds of years. But they can only
do this by cutting themselves off from empathy by implanting their heart chakras
with implant Energy
Blockages and by cutting themselves
off from their souls and their conscience by implanting
Energy
Blockages above their crown chakras,
the higher the implant, the worse the person.
But they can only
maintain this state by vampirising the energies of their human cattle. This is
but a temporary ploy. All of them fail to maintain these states, "They still
have rebirth" is the promise of Ascended Master Patanjali. Ascended Masters and
other White Magicians are the necessary Karmic antidote for these types of
people.
20. To the others, this asamprajnata samadhi could come through faith, strength, memory,
contemplation or by discernment.
21. To the keen and intent practitioner this (samadhi) comes very quickly.
22. The time necessary for success further depends on whether the practice is mild, medium,
or intense.
23. Or (samadhi is attained) by devotion with total dedication to God (Isvara).
24. Isvara is the supreme Purusha, unaffected by any afflictions, actions, fruits of actions
or by any inner impressions of desires.
Isvara is the highest
chakra above the head, the supreme purity. When we purify the
ANTAHKARANA of all
of its Energy Blockages we become aware of our connection to God. The standard
Hindu sayings are.. "I Am that" and "You are that also" which we only realise in
Illumination.
25. In Him is the complete manifestation of the seed of omniscience.
26. Unconditioned by time, He is the teacher of even the most ancient teachers.
27. The word expressive of Isvara is the mystic sound OM. (Note: OM is God's name as well as
form.)
28. To repeat it with reflection upon its meaning is an aid.
OM is a guided meditation
to enable connection with the chakras above the head. This is reflection
on its meaning.
OM is composed of three
syllables A, U and M and we chant in the order of those syllables. A
concentration on vibrating the base chakra and connection with the center of the
earth. U moving the vibration up to concentration on vibrating the heart chakra.
M concentration on vibrating the brow, ajna chakra, then sahasrara chakra and
then as the breath fails, projecting mentally a steam of energy towards the
higher chakras above the head. To the Central Spiritual Sun of Gurdjieff,
"Brighter than 10.000 suns it shines alone!" To the Soul Chakra and higher.
29. From this practice all the obstacles disappear and simultaneously dawns knowledge of the
inner Self.
The Practise of Meditation
has been used for 5000 years by all the Enlightened Masters. It is faster than
Hatha Yoga or Pranayama which too are wonderful helps to attain the state of
Meditation
30. These distractions of the mind-stuff are the obstacles.
Disease
Dullness
Doubt
Carelesssness
Laziness
Sensuality
False perception
Failure to reach firm ground
Slipping from the ground
31. Accompaniments to the mental distractions include:
Distress.
Despair.
Trembling of the body.
Disturbed breathing.
32. The practice of concentration on a single subject (or the use of one technique) is the
best way to prevent the obstacles and their accompaniments.
Whether you are interested in reaching samadhi or plan to
ignore Yoga entirely, I would advise you to remember at least this one Sutra. It
will be very helpful to you in keeping a peaceful mind in your daily life. You
may not have any great goal in your life, but just try to follow this one Sutra
very well and you will see its efficacy. Who would not like
undisturbed calmness of
mind always? Who would not like to be happy always? Everybody wants that.
Patanjali gives four golden keys: friendliness, compassion,
delight and disregard. There are only four kinds of locks in the world. Keep
these four golden keys always with you and when you come across any one of these
four locks you will have the proper key to open it.
What are those four locks? Sukha, duhkha, punya and apunya — the happy people,
unhappy people, the virtuous and the wicked. At a given moment, you can fit any
person into one of these four categories.
When you see a happy man, use the "friendliness" key. Why should Patanjali say
this? Because even four thousand years ago there must have been people who were
not happy at seeing others happy. It is still the same way. Suppose somebody
drives up in a big car, walks in front of his huge palatial home and gets out.
Some other people are standing on the pavement in the hot sun getting tired. How
many of those people will be happy? Not many. They will be saying, "See that big
car? Be is sucking the blood of the laborers." We come across people like that.
They are always jealous. When a person gets name, fame or high position, they
try to criticize him, "Oh, don't you know, his brother is so-and-so; he must
have pulled some strings somewhere." They will never admit that he might have
gone up by his own merit. By that jealousy, you will not disturb him, but you
disturb your own serenity. He simply got out of the car and walked into the
house, but you are burning up inside. Instead, think, "Oh, such a fortunate man.
If everybody were like that how happy the world would be. May God bless
everybody to have such comfort. I will also get that one day." Make him your
friend.
That response is missed in many cases, not only between
individuals but even among nations. When some nation is prospering, the
neighboring country is jealous, envious of it and wants to ruin its economy. In
order to maintain an advantage over your enemies it is necessary to reduce the
economy of their countries during times of, "Peace" Genghis Khan is symptomatic
of most foreign policy when he said, "It is not enough that I am victorious,
everyone else must fail!" And he was the guy to do that. To destroy the
economies of the other countries through standard Machiavellian tactics -
funding the terrorist enemies, funding the enemy countries of these countries,
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" Indeed to these wicked people everyone else
is an enemy!!
It is said that the Catholic Pope funded Genghis Khan in order
that he attack the rear of the Pope's Muslim enemies and thus reduce the economy
of the Muslims through war and distract their attention from the Holy Land and
their proposed invasion of Europe. Some people say that Hitler was funded in
order to destroy the economies of Russia and Europe itself.
So WE should be different from that. We should always have the
key of friendliness when we see happy people.
And what of the next lock, the unhappy people? "Well, Swami said everybody has
his own karma; he must have done some wretched thing in his last birth. Let him
suffer now." That should not be our attitude. Maybe he is suffering from
previous bad karma but we should have compassion. If you can lend a helping
hand, do it. If you can share half of your loaf, share it. Be merciful always.
By doing that, you will retain the peace and poise of your mind. Remember our
goal is to keep the serenity of our minds. Whether our mercy is going to help
that man or not, by our own feeling of mercy, at least we are helped.
Then comes the third kind, the virtuous people. The Illuminated. When you see a
virtuous man, feel delighted. "Oh, how great he is. He must be my hero. I should
imitate his great qualities." Don't envy him; don't try to pull him down.
Appreciate the virtuous qualities in him and try to cultivate them in your own
life.
And lastly, the wicked. We come across wicked people sometimes. We can't deny
that. So what should be our attitude? Indifference. "Well, some people are like
that. Probably I was like that yesterday. Am I not a better person now? He will
probably be all right tomorrow." Don't try to advise him because wicked people
seldom take advice. If you try to advise them you will lose your peace.
I still remember a small story from the Pancha Tantra which I was told as a
small child. One rainy day a monkey was sitting on a tree branch getting
completely drenched. Right opposite on another branch of the same tree there was
a small sparrow sitting in his hanging nest. Normally a sparrow builds its nest
on the edge of a branch so it can hang down and swing around gently in the
breeze. It has a nice cabin inside with an upper chamber, a reception room, a
bedroom down below and even a delivery room if it is going to give birth to
young ones. Oh yes, you should see and admire a sparrow's nest sometime.
So it was warm and cozy inside its nest and the sparrow just peeped out and
seeing the poor monkey, said, "Oh my dear friend, I am so small; I don't even
have hands like you, only a small beak. But with only that I built a nice house
expecting this rainy day. Even if the rain comes for days and days, I will be
warm inside. I heard Darwin saying that you are the forefather of the human
beings so why don't you use your brain? Build a nice small hut somewhere to
protect yourself during the rain."
You should have seen the face of that monkey. It was terrible! He was so
envious!! "Oh, you little devil. How dare you try to advise me? Because you are
warm and cozy in your nest you are teasing me. I suppose you think you are
really good, don't you? Wait, you will see where you
are!" The monkey proceeded to tear the nest to pieces and throw it to the ground
and the poor bird had to fly out and get drenched like the monkey.
the Wicked Psychopathic Monkey
Demon
This is a story of the envy of the wicked I was told when I was quite young and
I still remember it. So sometimes we come across such monkeys and if you advise
them, they take it as an insult. They think you are proud of your position. If
you sense even a little of that tendency in somebody, stay away. They will have
to learn by their experience. By giving advice to such people, you will only
lose your peace of mind.
So, these simple tales told from the Pancha Tantra and the
Yoga Sutras of Patanjali for 5000 years to help humanity - to teach them the
real truth is available to attract people to those techniques which alone can
heal all the problems of humanity and of the whole world.
Which say, "After all that" After you have tried everything
else in all your 1000 lifetimes of toil on this planet, here is meditation. It
is the only thing which works to enable you to pass on to the next level.
Remember, Gurdjieff pulled no punches when he talked of his
students on the path of Illumination. "Every person on this planet is the shit
of a shit!! But if you want to change, then you are my brother and I will help
you to the utmost of my powers!!"
Note that the mind flows each day between happy, unhappy,
virtuous and wicked. He who is happy one day will be unhappy the next. He who is
virtuous one day will when pushed too much by the energy of the Buddhafield will
be wicked the next day. People on this planet are only in the process of
learning to be good. We have all done horrible things in our past lifetimes. And
most people have so many sub-personalities they have no idea or connection with
their soul infused personality higher selves. Until illuminated it is almost
impossible to maintain goodness in every minute of the day.
Yet it is these changes in our temperament which teach us the
symptoms of our energy blockages so that we can focus on the problem and remove
the energy blockage cause using the Energy Enhancement Seven Step Process
of Level 2.
This real experience perceived by every aspirant to enter into
the Sacred Space which surrounds every Illuminated Master.. "Bringing an
unformed man into the presence of the wise is like throwing a dead dog into a
pool of rose-water!" - Jalalluddin Rumi - is that the blockages exist within
them. That there truly is a battle between good and evil in each student. And
this real experience of experiencing the symptoms of the blockages trying to
make them leave by all means possible.. by aches and pains, by negative emotions
like despair or anger, by false arguments created to make them lose faith in
techniques like meditation which have been used by Masters to help their
Students attain Illumination for 5000 years.
If the student can overcome the symptoms of the blockages then
he finds himself in a situation, a fairyland, where he can easily attain High
Samadhi Meditative States due to the ease of absorbing energy from the
Buddhafield, where he can pick and choose the blockage symptoms to work upon
using the Seven Step process of Energy Enhancement - and remove them all.
Remember, you need a LIVE Master!! Osho himseld said that,
"When I die, leave this ashram, and don't walk, RUN!!" Because the Black Crows
surround every Master and only become free to distort and change the work of the
Master after he dies. Thus the state of every Religion on this Planet.
So, the Master is always there to point out the symptoms of
yet another blockage!! He is always there to give another dose of Shaktipat. He
is always there to help remove the blockages! Help is always there to bring out
the last remaining blockages remaining before Enlightenment.
One of the main reasons for developing Guru Bhakti is so that
when the Master points out the faults of aspirants the student does not get
angry. The blockages want to make him angry. The blockages know that to remain
in the high voltage pressure of the Buddhafield is Ego Death, all the blockages
have to go and the pressure is on to make them go.
And what do we do with our students when we see even a little
bit of wickedness within them?
We stop teaching them!!
Yes, sometimes we need a rest from the pressure, but the
speedy remain, noses to the grindstone and tough it out. The less speedy often
need a rest but they always come back to the Buddhafield once their anger has
subsided. They retreat back to those simple practises - practises which are
really only for preparation to allow people to enter into the space of the
genuine Illuminated Masters and the numbing energy of "real" life!! "Just plug
me back in the Power Plant" Cypher, the Matrix. Because the presence of the
Master is the Only option for those who seek the way out of Illumination.

in the Buddhafield are the Inpatients, for the Operation of the Egodectomy" -

Is there any other category you can think of? Patanjali groups all individuals
in these four ways: the happy, the unhappy, the virtuous and the wicked. So have
these four attitudes: friendliness, compassion, gladness and indifference. These
four keys should always be with you in your pocket. And if you use the right key
with the right person you will retain your peace. Nothing in the world can upset
you then. Remember, our goal is to keep a serene mind. From the very beginning
of Patanjali's Sutras we are reminded of that. And this Sutra will help us a
lot.
34. Or that calm is retained by the controlled exhalation or retention of the breath.
35. Or the concentration on subtle sense perception can cause steadiness of mind.
36. Or by concentrating on the supreme, ever blissful Light within.
37. Or by concentrating on a great soul's mind which is totally freed from attachment to
sense objects.
38. Or by concentrating on an experience had during dream or deep sleep.
39. Or by meditating on anything one chooses that is elevating.
40
. Gradually, one's mastery in concentration extends from the primal atom to the greatest
magnitude.
The whole
ANTAHKARANA needs
to be purified of all of its energy blockages.
Just as the naturally pure crystal assumes shapes and colors of objects placed near it,
so the Yogi's mind, with its totally weakened modifications, becomes clear and balanced
and attains the state devoid of differentiation between knower, knowable and knowledge.
This culmination of meditation is samadhi.
"The mind of the Yogi with its totally weakened modifications," means that he
has cultivated one thought form at the cost of all others. When you cultivate
one alone, all the other impressions become weaker and finer.
To give a physical example, if you concentrate on the
development of the brain alone, you are apt to ignore the other parts of the
body.
There is a story by H. G. Wells where the future generation is
described as having only a big head with little limbs like the roots of a
potato. Because they did not use them, there would be no need for them. They,
just think, "I must have food," and the food comes. No need even to use a hand
to flip a switch, because the switch will be activated by thought. In fact
science is devising cars now where you sit in the car and say, "All right,
start. Go ahead. Be quick. Hold on. Stop." And even that seems to be unnecessary
now that they have printed circuits. If you want to go to Boston, take the
Boston card, put it into the car's computer, sit quietly and soon you are in
Boston! All you will have to do is buy those cards. Wherever you want to go, put
the card into the machine and just do anything you want in the car — talk
business, chat or watch television. Then the car will remind you, "Sir, we are
in Boston." That's all. No part of the body is put into use; so it will slowly
reduce in size.
That is not only true of the physical body, the same is true of the mind. If you
develop one idea through constant meditation, all other thoughts and desires
will gradually die away. In our daily lives we see that. If you are interested
in someone you think of that one day and night. If you open a book, your mind
will not go into the subject but instead will think of that person. You will
gradually lose interest in all other people and things.
THE STORY OF SAINT NARADA AND HOW VALMIKI THE MURDERER BECAME
A SAINT - A KARMA CLEANING PROCESS OF MEDITATION
The same is true in Yoga practice. Our concentration and
meditation should be like that. In the ancient Hindu scriptures, we come across
stories which illustrate this point, for example the story of Valmiki, the
highwayman.
This is the story of a wicked person as described in Sutra 33
of Book One of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
Valmiki was so bad that he used to murder everyone and then
take their fingers and put them in a necklace around his neck. Yet this murderer
was special because over many lifetimes he had developed special qualities, the
qualities of a student. As Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita, that he is
the energy behind that which is the best, the most highly developed talents of
humanity. "Of all the gamblers, I am the best" he says, so even the bad
qualities have to be developed. And here is Valmiki, the best murderer!
LORD KRISHNA - THE HIGHER SELF
In over one hundred lifetimes we have entered into every bad path
available. We have done every bad thing. But we have also developed many talents through serendipity. We have grown.
Now we need just that one touch to enable the change. As energy flows from
higher energies to lower energies, just the presence of an Illuminated Saint can
provide that needed touch. Talented students given the right motivation can
achieve Illumination very quickly.
SACRED SAINTS CHANNEL THE ENERGY OF PURE LOVE - THE ENERGY OF
CHANGE
Yes, Love is the Energy of Change.
The more Love, the More Change.
The more Trauma Formed Negative Karmic Mass, the more Karma
Misery, the more Despair, the more the Change is needed.
Sage Narada was passing by, and as was his habit Valmiki the
Murderer Thief accosted him and
said,
"Hey, what do you have in your pockets?"
"Oh, I don't even have pockets, sir."
"What a wretched man. I've never seen a man with nothing. You must give me
something, otherwise I won't spare your life."
Then Narada said, "All right, I will try to get something for
you; but don't you think it's a sin to harm innocent people?"
"Oh you Swamis talk a lot about sin. You have no other business, but I have to
maintain my wife, children and my house. If I just sit and think of virtue, our
tummies are not going to be satisfied. I have to get money somehow, by hook or
by crook."
"Well, all right, do it. If that's your policy I don't mind. But you say that
you must feed your wife and children by hook or by crook. You should know that it
is a sin and you will have to face the reactions of it."
"Well, I don't bother about that."
"You may not bother, but since you are committing sins to provide for your wife
and children, you'd better ask them whether they are willing to share the
reactions of the sins also."
"Undoubtedly they will. My wife always says we are one and my children love me
like anything, so naturally all I do for their sake will be shared by them."
"Well, maybe so but don't just tell me. Go find out fort sure."
"Will you run away?"
"No."
"OK. You stay here, I will run there and find out."
So he ran to his house and asked, "Hey, this man asked me a funny question just now.
He says that I am committing sins and certainly there's no doubt that. But I am doing
it for your sake. When you share of the food, will you take a share of the sin.
The wife answered, "It is your duty as a husband and father to
maintain us. It is immaterial to us how you do it. We are not responsible. We
didn't ask you to commit sins. You could do some proper work to bring us food.
Anyway, that's your business and your duty. We are not going to bother whether
it's right or wrong. We won't take a share of your sins."
"My God! My beloved children, how about you?" "As Mommy says, Dad."
"What a dirty family. I thought you were going to share everything with me. You
are going to share only the food and nothing else. I don't even want to see your
faces!"
He ran back and fell at Narada's feet: "Swamiji, you have opened my eyes. What
am I to do now?"
"Well, you have committed a lot of sins. You have to purge them all."
"Please tell me some way."
So Narada gave Valmiki mantra initiation for meditation. "All right. Can you
repeat 'Rama, Rama'?"
"What's that? I've never heard of it; I'm just an illiterate person. I can't
repeat it. Can you give me something easier?"
"Oh, what a pity. Let's see, look at this." He pointed at a tree. "What is it?"
"It's a mara (tree)."
"All right. Can you repeat it?" "Sure, that's easy."
"Fine. Sit in a quiet place and just go on repeating 'Mara mara mara.' "
"Is that all? That will save me from all my sins?"
"Certainly."
"Well, sir, I believe you. You have already enlightened me quite a lot.
You seem
to be a good swami. I'll begin right here and now. I don't want to waste any
time."
It is nice to be so innocent that you can believe, have
sufficient faith to believe all this. Yet it is true!! "Come to me as little
children" said the Christ.
So he just sat under a tree and went on repeating "mara, mara, ma ra ma rama,
Rama Rama . . . "
See? Mara mara representing the tree
ANTAHKARANA soon became Rama Rama
representing the realised Man.
He sat for years like
that until at last an anthill was formed completely covering his body. Yes,
because he was so deeply interested in that, he forgot everything else. Even his
body became benumbed as if the fuse was blown in the main power house. This is
what happens in samadhi. So after a long, long time somebody just passed and
happened to disturb the anthill and the saint Valmiki emerged. Later he got the
divine vision of Lord Rama's life and wrote the entire epic story of Ramayana.
Even now you can read Valmiki's Ramayana.
What is to be learned from this story? He just concentrated on that mantram and
forgot everything else. All the sins slowly dried up for want of nourishment and
died away. If you do not pour water on your plant, what will happen? It will
slowly wither and die. Our habits will also slowly wither and die away if we do
not give them an opportunity to manifest. You need not fight to stop a habit.
Just don't give it an opportunity to repeat itself. That's all you have to do.
Any kind of habit can be easily removed this way. And that is possible by
cultivating one proper habit. The mind must have something to hold on to, so you
stick to one thing and all the other things die.
So, the Karma Cleaning Process, in this case only by using
Meditation and Mantra Initiation and sitting for years you can remove all your
problems.
If we use more advanced techniques we can speed up this process. The
Kundalini Kriyas. Alchemical VITRIOL. Access the the Soul Chakra. The Energy
Enhancement Seven Step Process for removing Energy Blockages. With all this we
can remove all those bad impressions fast!
Now to finish the Sutra, "...the mind of the Yogi with its totally weakened
modifications attains . . . a state in which there can be no differentiation
between the knower, knowable and knowledge." The Yogi whose vrittis or energy
blockages have thus become powerless by the cultivation of one particular vritti
ceases to distinguish between the knower, knowable and knowledge (or meditator,
meditated upon and meditation).
In meditation you are conscious of all three — subject, object
and process of meditation.
But at this point, moving into Samadhi, the three become one;
either the object becomes subject or subject becomes object. There is a merging,
a fusion, of the Lower Chakras with the Higher Chakras.
Meditation naturally flows into Samadhi
with the Light of ten thousand suns, and you become that sun through a process
of fusion. When nothing remains to prevent that process, all the seeds have been
burned, the we have EnLightenment.
And when there is no subject-object separation, there is no
process either. The mind is completely absorbed and loses itself in the idea or
object of meditation.
The process of evolution continues towards a crystallisation
of the Psychic functions.
Every thoughtform or talent needs to be purified of
its negativity. When this has occurred then through the application of energy
from the higher chakras, the psychic function or talent can become a hardened
crystalline structure which is more difficult to affect - it is impossible to
place implant blockages in them for example - and because smaller, much more
efficient.
Patanjali gives the example of an object near a crystal. If
you put a red flower near a crystal, the crystal itself appears to be red like
the flower. It becomes one with that; it accepts that. Likewise, the mind
accepts the idea of your meditation and takes that form.
So here there is Development in Samadhi and here Patanjali is
giving us the process of that development.
42. The samadhi in which name, form and knowledge of them is mixed is called savitarka
samadhi, or samadhi with deliberation.
43. When the memory is well purified, the knowledge of the object of concentration shines
alone, devoid of the distinction of name and quality. This is nirvitarka samadhi, or
samadhi without deliberation.
44. In the same way, savichara (reflective) and nirvichara (super or non reflective)
samadhis, are explained.
We normally transmute
blockages without any feedback, however, if we need to know something, if we
need to be taught something, to reflect on it, then we usually receive
visions of what happened to create the blockage in the first place.
45. The subtlety of possible objects of concentration ends only at the undefinable.
Objects of Concentration
are Energy Blockages.
46. All these samadhis are sabija (with seed
or Energy Blockage), which could bring one back into bondage or
mental disturbance.
47. In the purity of nirvichara samadhi, the supreme Self shines.
The Central Spiritual Sun..
"Brighter than 10,000 Suns it shines alone"
48. This is ritambhara prajna, or the absolute true consciousness.
49.
Sruta =
(heard) study of scriptures; anumana = inference; prajnabhyam = from the
knowledge; anya = totally different; vishaya visesha = special truth; arfhafvaf
= cognition of.
This special truth is totally different from knowledge gained by hearing, study of
scripture or inference.
When you achieve that ritambhara prajna you understand everything without study.
Swami Satchidananda said that one day I
would be able to understand everything just by looking at it. He said that he
himself did not know where his words came from when he was talking. "I just sit
back and listen with amazement to what is being said whilst my mouth does the
talking" This is the amazing truth of ritambhara prajna.
The "Prajna Paramita" from the
Heart Sutra chanted by Zen Buddhists for hundreds of years, are the words of the
Buddha about meditation where he says that, "All Sages and Saints for thousands
of years Live from Prajna Paramita" or the Highest Wisdom chakras above the
head. Founded in the Earth the highest saints realise the higher chakras
above the head as they explore and clean the ANTAHKARANA. With more chakra
processors working this
ritambhara prajna is the
result - And More!!
When you transcend the mind through proper
concentration, you feel the Cosmic Force or God. It is higher than the
intellect, as the energy descends it informs the Intellect; I call it, "Intelligent Energy".
You can check your experience with the scriptures or through the word of sages
and saints but it is known by you through your own experience. Until then all
you have heard and read and visualized will be by your own mind. Experiencing
God is something which is genuine and comes only when you transcend the mind.
God cannot be understood by the mind because mind is matter and matter cannot
possibly understand something more subtle than matter.
Western psychology talks only about the mind, saying, "Unless you understand by
your mind you can't know something," and at the same time it says, "but you
cannot know everything by the mind." That is all; it stops there.
But Yoga tells you you can know something
beyond the mind. . here is a higher knowledge which can only be understood
without the mind. As the Mandukya Upanishad says, "Nantah-prajnyam, na bahis
prajnyam, nobhayatah-prajnyam, na prajnyana-ghanam, na prajnyam, naprajnyam ...
Not the inside knowledge, not outside knowledge, not knowledge itself, not
ignorance..."
It's all expressed in the negative: you can't
grasp it, you can't think of it, you can't mark it with a symbol, it has no name
or form and you can't explain it. Hundreds of people might sit in front of a man
and he might talk for hours and hours about God, and they might sit and listen
for hours and hours but it's all nonsense. Yes, he has said nothing about God
and they have heard nothing about God. He has only said something about the God
which he could fit into his own mind, and they have only understood the God that
they could grasp with their own minds. That's all. Nobody has said anything
about the real God and no one has understood the real God. It's unexplainable.
So in that ritambhara prajna you transcend the mind and gain a knowledge which
is realization.
For that the mind must be completely silent as
it is only that absence of vrittis which allows the intelligent energy to
pass through into the purified mind to be decoded.
That is why in Hindu mythology there is one
form of God called Dakshinamoorthi who sat with four disciples in front of him.
They were all learned men; they had read all the Vedas and Upanishads and heard
all that was to be heard but they still couldn't realize the truth. So they came
to Dakshinamoorthi and requested him to explain the highest Brahman (the
unmanifested God). He just sat there in silence. After awhile they got up, bowed
down and said, "Swami, we have understood," and went away. Because only in
silence can it be explained: Mouna vakya Prakratitha Parabrahma fattvam...The
Parabrahma tattvam or unmanifested supreme principle can only be explained by
silence, not by words."
In not only the physical silence, but in the
real mental silence, the wisdom dawns.
50. The impression produced by this samadhi wipes out all other impressions
(Energy Blockages).
51. When even this impression is wiped out, every impression is totally wiped out and there
is nirbija (seedless or Energy Blockageless) samadhi.
ILLUMINATION!!
The Yoga
Sutras of Patanjali
talks about
Illumination as being Nirbija Samadhi. This word is a teaching as to what
exactly enlightenment is. Nir means no, and Bija means seed. The seeds of
desires which have not yet come to fruition. These Seeds are Energy Blockages. This is the Karma which is yet to
come. And as it says in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, "The Karma that is to
come can be averted" The removal of Energy Blockages, Grounding their
Negative Karmic Mass, is an Energy Enhancement Process called, "Karma
Cleaning"
- Level 3 of Energy Enhancement.
Each
desire seed when watered can addict us to the desire it contains.
In the
Yoga Sutras they talk of the method of roasting the seeds so that the life
they contain is extinguished, they can not germinate even with all the correct
conditions, ever again to bring us to Painful Karma. And what roasts the seeds? This is the concentration
of the Light of the Soul in Samadhi, the next highest energy to the mind and there are
higher energies still we can contact on the path of Energy Enhancement, as
light is concentrated through a lens, as it is focused through the Brow
Chakra, Ajna Chakra or through any of the chakras of which the Brow chakra is
the Master - this is called Samyama.

NOW THE DISCIPLINE OF YOGA. ( Note - Yoga Here always refers to Enlightenment. The True meaning of Yoga, in the ancient days, was union with the Soul, or Enlightenment )

NOW THE DISCIPLINE OF YOGA. Each and single word has to be understood because Patanjali will not use a single superfluous word.
NOW THE DISCIPLINE OF YOGA.
First try to understand the word "now". This "now" indicates to the state of mind I was just talking to you about.
If you are disillusioned, if you are hopeless, if you have completely become aware of the futility of all desires, if you see your life as meaningless -- whatsoever you have been doing up to now has simply fallen dead nothing remains in the future, you are in absolute despair -- what Kierkegaard calls anguish. If you are in anguish, suffering, not knowing what to do, not knowing where to go, not knowing to whom to look, just on the verge of madness or suicide or death, your whole pattern of life suddenly has become futile. If this moment has come, Patanjali says, NOW THE DISCIPLINE OF YOGA. Only now you can understand the science of yoga, the discipline of yoga.
If that moment has not come, you can go on studying yoga, you can become a great scholar, but you will not be a yogi. You can write theses upon it, you can give discourses upon it, but you will not be a yogi. The moment has not come for you. Intellectually you can become interested, through your mind you can be related to yoga, but yoga is nothing if it is not a discipline. Yoga is not a shastra; it is not a scripture. It is a discipline. It is something you have to do. It is not curiosity; it is not philosophic speculation. It is deeper than that. It is a question of life and death.
If the moment has come where you feel that all directions have become confused, all roads have disappeared; the future is dark, and every desire has become bitter, and through every desire you have known only disappointment; all movement into hopes and dreams has ceased:
NOW THE DISCIPLINE OF YOGA.
This "now" may not have come. Then I may go on talking about yoga but you will not listen. You can listen only if the moment is present in you.
Are you really dissatisfied7 Everybody will say "yes", but that dissatisfaction is not real. You are dissatisfied with this, you may be dissatisfied with that, but you are not totally dissatisfied. You are still hoping. You are dissatisfied because of your past hopes, but for the future you are still hoping. Your dissatisfaction is not total. You are still hankering for some satisfaction somewhere, for some gratification somewhere.
Sometimes you feel hopeless, but that hopelessness is not true. You feel hopeless because certain hopes have not been achieved, certain hopes have fallen. But hoping is still there: hoping has not fallen. You will still hope. You are dissatisfied with this hope, that hope, but you are not dissatisfied with hope as such. If with hope as such you are disappointed, the moment has come and then you can enter yoga. And then this entry will not be entering into a mental, speculative phenomenon. This entry will be an entry into a discipline.
What is discipline? Discipline means creating an order within you. As you are, you are a chaos. As you are, you are totally disorderly. Gurdjieff used to say -- and Gurdjieff is in many ways like Patanjali: he was again trying to make the core of religion a science -- Gurdjieff says that you are not one, you are a crowd, not even when you say "I", there is any "I". There are many "I's" in you, many egos. In the morning, one "I"; in the afternoon, another "I"; in the evening, a third "I", but you never become aware of this mess because who will become aware of it7 There is not a center who can become aware.
"Yoga is discipline" means yoga wants to create a crystallized center in you. As you are, you are a crowd and a crowd has many phenomena. One is, you cannot believe a crowd. Gurdjieff used to say that man cannot promise. Who will promise? You are not there. If you promise, who will fulfill the promise? Next morning the one who promised is no more.
People come to me and they say, "Now I will take the vow. I promise to do this." I tell them, "Think twice before you promise something. Are you confident that next moment the one who promised will be there?" You decide to get up early in the morning from tomorrow -- at four o'clock. And at four o'clock somebody in you says, "Don't bother. It is so cold outside. And why are you in such a hurry? We can do it tomorrow." And you fall asleep again.
When you get up you repent. And you think, "This is not good. I should have done it." You decide again that "Tomorrow I will do;" and the same is going to happen tomorrow because at four in the morning the one who promised is no more there, somebody else is in the chair. And you are a Rotary Club: the chairman goes on changing. Every member becomes a rotary chairman. Rotation is there. Every moment someone else is the master.
Gurdjieff used to say, "This is the chief characteristic of man, that he cannot promise." You cannot fulfill a promise. You go on giving promises, and you know well you cannot fulfill, because you are not one: you are a disorder, a chaos. Hence, Patanjali says, NOW THE DISCIPLINE OF YOGA. If your life has become an absolute misery, if you have realized that whatsoever you do creates hell, then the moment has come. This moment can change your dimension, your direction of being.
Up until now you have lived as a chaos, a crowd. Yoga means now you will have to be a harmony, you will have to become one. A crystallization is needed; a centering is needed. And unless you attain a center, all that you do is useless. It is wasting life and time. A center is the first necessity, and only a person can be blissful who has got a center. Everybody asks for it, but you cannot ask. You have to earn it! Everybody hankers for a blissful state of being, but only a center can be blissful. A crowd cannot be blissful, a crowd has got no self. There is no atman. Who is going to be blissful.
Bliss means absolute silence, and silence is possible only when there is harmony-when all the discordant fragments have become one, when there is no crowd, but one. When you are alone in the house and nobody else is there, you will be blissful. Right now everybody else is in your house, you are not there. Only guests are there, the host is always absent. And only the host can be blissful.
This centering Patanjali calls discipline -- ANUSHASANAM. The word "discipline" is beautiful. It comes from the same root from where the word "disciple" comes. "Discipline" means the capacity to learn, the capacity to know. But you cannot know, you cannot learn, unless you have attained the capacity to be.
One man once came to Buddha and he said... He must have been a social reformer, a revolutionary. He said to Buddha, "The world is in misery. I agree with you." Buddha has never said that the world is in misery. Buddha says, "You are the misery," not the world. "Life is misery," not the world. "Man is misery," not the world. "Mind is misery," not the world. But that revolutionary said, "The world is in misery. I agree with you. Now tell me, what I can do? I have a deep compassion, and I want to serve humanity."
Service must have been his motto. Buddha looked at him and remained silent. Buddha's disciple, Ananda, said, "This man seems to be sincere. Guide him. Why you are silent?" Then Buddha said to that revolutionary, "You want to serve the world, but where are you? I don't see anyone inside. I look in you, there is no one.
"You don't have any center, and unless you are centered whatsoever you do will create more mischief." All of your social reformers, your revolutionaries, your leaders, they are the great mischief creators, mischief-mongers. The world will be better if there were no leaders. But they cannot help. They must do something because the world is in misery. And they are not centered, so whatsoever they do they create more misery. Only compassion will not help, only service will not help. Compassion through a centered being is something totally different. Compassion through a crowd is mischief. That compassion is poison.

I am now
out in Spain training to be a yoga teacher with Energy Enhancement and later
training to be an Energy Enhancement Meditation teacher. I was previously out
here with Satchi and Devi two years ago when I did the first part of the Energy
Enhancement course.
I later completed it in Argentina this year. I had needed
that gap in between to assimilate what I had learnt and put it into practice. I
teach meditation and have found it very helpful with my own personal growth as
well as progressing on my spiritual path, so much so that I felt it would you
very useful to those on a similar path and that I would like to teach it.
If you
meditate long enough and hard enough you can resolve your life’s problems but
that can take a lifetime and I felt I could not wait that long, I wanted things
to happen now. That’s is why Satchi and Devi’s Energy Enhancement Course
appealed to me, it was all about doing, not just talking about it.
Energy Enhancement is
experiential, you learn by
doing, it is not some others persons experience it is your own that you work
on. Only by doing do you learn, you are given the necessary techniques to
tackle negative thought forms in your life and you work through meditation to

of psychoanalysis; it is not
necessary to rake up the past in fine detail. You can acknowledge past events

I thought
I would go through with and share the Energy Enhancement processes that have
occurred for me over the last few days. It is just a report of things as they
are, no embellishments or make believe....
.... When
I was getting the better of the energy blockage I felt the spaces in which I
meditated expand. I got an explosion of energy down the right hand side of my
body. The energy was bumping around in my base chakra; in fact my whole body
was pulsating with the energies. It felt as though there was static electricity
all along my arms making the hairs stand up on end. As the energies grew
stronger I felt lighter, happier and freer. My heart opened out to send blasts
of energy out which returned back to me.
This was
not just a quest for personal growth it was the quest for enlightenment. It is
the spiritual path I am on, these techniques are just part of it. The ancient
scriptures are followed and hatha yoga is practiced, it is all part and parcel
of the same thing.
Satchidanand said we only see these problems when we are able to deal with them
and now was the time for me to deal them. There are also positive images whilst
meditating and one was of a large bird soaring in the sky, floating on the
thermals, being taken by the wind. That is the analogy of my quest. I want to
be free to follow my souls path; I want to be that bird. Out of this I was given
a message “Let the soul sing its song through my heart”.

"Initiation One" Video my 50 year old legs would go numb within 10 minutes
any time I tried to meditate sitting on the floor with legs crossed in "easy
position". After making the adjustments suggested in the video I can sit
for 40+ minutes without any sign of numbness or strain. I'm sure I'll be
able to go much longer with practice. An alternate method of sitting
"saddle style" was also shown and it too provided numbness and pain free
meditation.
The next part of the video
described how to align the spine so that it is square to the earth. Once in
alignment I could easily feel the current from the center of the earth
flowing though me. This was very energizing.
These two changes alone I
feel will dramatically impact my meditation progress for the better.
The breathing technique
given was not unlike techniques that I've used before. So it wasn't a major
breakthrough for me. However, with the above two changes I think any
breathing technique would be greatly enhanced.
Overall, I think that this
video gives the two most important and often overlooked keys to meditation.
First is finding a sitting position that is comfortable for a long duration
and second is squaring the body to tap into the earth's energy system.

review of "Energy Enhancement
Initiation 2" of 28
Energy Enhancement Initiations - The Circulation of the Energies.
Energy Enhancement Initiation 2 is the micro-cosmic orbit that is taught in many
forms of qi gong, with two major improvements.
First
you learn how to identify where you have blockages and second you learn a couple
of techniques on how to clear the blockages. I had practiced the micro-cosmic
orbit in the past but lost interest in it because of the lack of progress I had.
I have been practicing the micro-cosmic orbit using the techniques in Energy
Enhancement Initiation 2 for the past couple of weeks and have noticed steady
progress. One thing I have noticed a natural flow of saliva which fills my mouth
within a few minutes anytime my tongue is in proper alignment.
Besides
feeling the micro-cosmic orbit more clearly, I can also feel a stronger
kundalini flow when I align myself as taught in Energy Enhancement Initiation 1.
I have
identified the blocked areas of my spine and body and have been using the Energy
Enhancement techniques to remove them.

"To expand, I
was sitting in meditation the other night and was happily destroying
blockages in me using the Seven
Step Process of Energy Enhancement taught by Satchi and Devi when
I was staggered by something new. I watched as negative energy transmuted
into white light and travelled down to the centre of the earth then returned
up my spinal column and carried on into outer space to the centre of the
universe and then returned back to me through the crown chakra and down the

Cornucopia is one of the horns of Amaltheia, the goat-nymph who nursed Zeus.

Every brick aspires
to become a Cathedral - the Monad and the Logos Chakras above the Head
Communities.
Here I am not referring
to Freemasonry, but to the idea that there has been knowledge kept secret,
spiritual knowledge, and in particular knowledge of the secrets of art and
architecture. After the age of the cathedrals, the Middle Ages, with the
Renaissance, and up to the present, the development of humanity in the European
tradition turned to the development of the intellect, reason, logical thought,
as distinct from instinct and intuition. We have gained enormously from this
development, and we can see with a clarity previously impossible, but a
combination of ego and rationality has demanded an understanding which commands
its subject. An illusory desire for reason to command all, meeting the fact that
reason cannot command all, produces the concept of secrets, secret knowledge.
There is an
essential knowledge, but it is not secret, just difficult to put into practice,
so it is sometimes easier to hold the concept of secret knowledge, not available
to me. There have been all sorts of ideas about secret schools preserving
knowledge of architecture across the centuries, and this usually settles upon
geometrical systems of proportion and composition. Harmonious proportions and
number symbolism were used, and these harmonies are inherent in the human mind,
and emerge naturally when composition is undertaken by a pure mind.
The search for secret
knowledge is often promoted by people who are avoiding their own self discovery.
There have been times when knowledge had to be kept secret from oppressive
authorities - time when religious institutions were both decadent and powerful,
but even then the real knowledge can be expressed in a way that communicates
without offence. Maurice Maeterlinck, author of the play The Blue Bird, wrote
his book The Great Secret about seventy years
ago. He said that the secret had been openly expressed again and again, and it
told who you really are, something quite simple, but entailing in its acceptance
a certain sacrifice, of who you are not, THE EGO, a sacrifice many are unwilling
to entertain, and, consciously or unconsciously, prefer to see the truth as
hidden from them, requiring a profound search. Your search is hindered only by
yourself.
NUMBER
SYMBOLISM
The cathedral is also full of number symbolism, not the construction of a
rational meaning out of numerical analysis, but from an underlying sense that
every number, and particularly the numbers from 1 to 12 had a transforming
meaning. One was the number of original unity, and two the number of the first
division. Three was the number of the divine, and four the number of the world.
Seven, the sum of three and four, represented the steps or completed cycle from
earth to heaven, and eight, the next, signifying rebirth and new life, and 12,
the product of three and four, God and the world, were all also important.
Chartres is full of threes and sevens. Apart from the threes inherent in the
layout and height of the building, the transepts and the choir each have three
bays, there are three portals, each with three doors. and three
storeys to each tower. At Chartres, there are seven bays to the nave, seven bays
between the crossing and the east window, and seven bays to the apse and
ambulatory. The pilgrimage to Chartres, from the secular to the sacred, and the
pilgrimage through Chartres, through the sacred to rebirth, can be seen as
journeys of seven steps, with, like the chapels of the ambulatory, three
principal aspects. Seven is also the number of the gifts of the body and the
gifts of the soul, shown in both transepts. Chartres expresses a unifying and
transforming symbolism in the very fabric of its architectural design. It was
the first high cathedral with only three storeys, the model for all later
cathedrals. Internally and externally, height is a principal attribute, and not
only height, but verticality. The whole design is expressed in terms of vertical
lines. This is an enormously heavy stone building, which could have been
expressed as stable and earthbound, but with all the stone masses expressed as
bundles of vertical shafts, and with pointed arches formed like arrows to
heaven, the emphasis is upward: gravity is transformed and the building leads
the eye upward, an upward emphasis that is read psychologically as a
spiritual ascent.

fountain above is the Earth. The little circle in its center is kundalini
energy which flows in every direction but is then channelled through the

Below is a Shiva Lingham and Yoni from
the india and the Ancient, 5000 years old Hindu religion.
The base, Yoni looks like the fountain above, yes? The Shiva Lingam (Male
Genitals) takes the part of the upwelling water of the fountain. In ritual
worship, milk is poured over the Shiva Lingam and it comes out of the Yoni
(Female Genitals) which symbolise the earth and the antahkarana spout
shooting spiritual energy out of the center of the earth like the water of
the fountain comes out of the fountain above into the pool.
This shows the rectification (The R of Vitriol) of the energy milk which
comes down from the center of the universe and its rectification, change of
direction, as it returns from the center of the earth back into the center of
the universe.

Their are five kinds of
Mental Modifications which are either painful or painless. They are:
Right Knowledge.
Misconception.
Verbal delusion.
Sleep.
Memory.

1, Sutra 5, Part 2
THEY ARE RIGHT KNOWLEDGE, WRONG KNOWLEDGE, IMAGINATION, SLEEP AND
MEMORY.
The first is praman, right knowledge. The Sanskrit word praman is very deep and
really cannot be translated. Right knowledge is just a shadow, not the exact
meaning, because there is no word which can translate praman. Praman comes from
the root prama. Many things have to be understood about it.
Patanjali says that the mind has a capacity. If that capacity is directed
rightly, then whatsoever is known is true; it is self-evidently true. We are not
aware about it because we have never used it. That faculty has remained unused.
It is just... The room is dark, you come in it, you have a torch, but you are
not using it -- so the room remains dark. You go on stumbling on this table, on
that chair, and you have a torch, but the torch has to be put on. Once you put
the torch on, immediately darkness disappears. And wherever the torch is focused
you know. At least that spot becomes evident, self-evidently clear.
Mind has a capacity of praman, of right knowledge, of wisdom. Once you know how
to put it on, then wherever you move that light, only right knowledge is
revealed. Without knowing it, whatsoever you know will be wrong.
Mind has the capacity of wrong knowledge also. That wrong knowledge is called in
Sanskrit viparyaya -- false, mithya. And you have that capacity also. You take
alcohol. What happens? The whole world becomes a viparyaya; the whole world
becomes false. You start seeing things which are not there.
What has happened? Alcohol cannot create things. Alcohol is doing something
within your body and brain. The alcohol starts working the center Patanjali
calls viparyaya. The mind has a center which can pervert anything. Once that
center starts functioning, everything is perverted.
I am reminded... Once it happened that Mulla Nasruddin and his friend were
drinking in a pub. They came out, completely drunk, and Nasruddin was an old,
experienced drinker. The other was new, so the other was affected more. So the
other asked, "Now I cannot see, I cannot hear, I cannot even walk rightly. How I
will reach my home? You tell me, Nasruddin please direct me. How I should reach
my home?"
Nasruddin said, "First you go. After so many steps you will come to a point
where there are two ways: one goes to the right, the other goes to the left. You
go to the left because that which goes to the right doesn't exist. I have been
many times on that right also, but now I am an experienced man. You will see two
paths. Choose the left one; don't choose the right. That right doesn't exist.
Many times I have gone on it, and then you never reach, you never reach your
home."
Once Nasruddin was teaching his son the first lessons of drinking. So he told
him... The son was asking, he was curious. He asked that, "When is one to stop?"
Nasruddin said, "Look at that table. Four persons are sitting there. When you
start seeing eight, stop!" The boy said, "But father, there are only two persons
sitting!"
Mind has a faculty. That faculty functions when you are under any influence of a
drug, any intoxicant. That faculty Patanjali calls viparyaya, wrong knowledge,
the center of perversion.
Exactly opposite to it there is a center you don't know. Exactly opposite to it
there is a center. If you meditate deeply, silently, that other center will
start functioning. That center is called praman, right knowledge. Through the
functioning of that center, whatsoever is known is right. What you know is not
the question, from where you know is the question.
That's why all the religions have been against alcohol. It is not on any
moralistic grounds, no! It is because alcohol influences the center of
perversion. And every religion is for meditation because meditation means more
and more creating a stillness, more and more becoming silent.
Alcohol goes on doing quite the opposite, makes you more and more agitated,
excited, disturbed. A trembling enters within you. The drunkard cannot even walk
rightly. His balance is lost. Not only in the body, but in the mind also balance
is lost.
Meditation means gaining the inner balance. When you gain the inner balance and
there is no trembling, the whole body-mind has become still, then the center of
right knowledge starts functioning. Through that center, whatsoever is known is
true.
Where you are? You are not alcoholics, you are not meditators, you must be
somewhere between the two. You are not in any center. You are between these two
centers of wrong knowledge and right knowledge. That's why you are confused.
Sometimes you have glimpses. You lean a little towards the right knowledge
center, then certain glimpses come to you. You lean toward the center, which is
of perversion, then perversion enters you. And everything is mixed, you are in
chaos. That's why either you will have to become meditators or you will have to
become alcoholics, because confusion is too much. And these are the two ways.
Either you lose yourself into intoxication, then you are at ease. At least you
have gained a center -- may be of wrong knowledge, but you are centered. The
whole world may say you are wrong. You don't think, you think the whole world is
wrong. At least in those moments of unconsciousness you are centered, centered
in the wrong center. But you are happy because even centering in the wrong
center gives a certain happiness. You enjoy it, hence, so much appeal of
alcohol.
Governments have been fighting for centuries. Laws have been made, prohibition
and everything, but nothing helps. Unless humanity becomes meditative, nothing
can help. People will go on; they will find new ways and new means to get
intoxicated. They cannot be prevented, and the more you try to prevent them,
more prohibition laws, the more appeal.
America did it, and had to fall back. They tried their best, but when alcohol
was prohibited more alcohol was used. They tried; they failed. India has been
trying after independence. It has failed, and many states have started again. It
seems useless.
Unless man changes inwardly, you cannot force man for any prohibition. It is
impossible because then man will go mad. This is his way to remain sane. For few
hours he becomes drugged, "stoned", then he is okay. Then there is no misery;
then there is no anguish. The misery will come, the anguish will come, but at
least it is postponed. Tomorrow morning the misery will be there, the anguish
will be there -- he will have to face it. But by the evening he can hope again
-- he will take drink and be at ease.
These are the two alternatives. If you are not meditative, then sooner or later
you will have to find some drug. And there are subtle drugs. Alcohol is not very
subtle, it is very gross. There are subtle drugs. Sex may become a drug for you.
And through sex you may be just losing your consciousness. Anything you can use
as a drug. Only meditation can help. Why? Because meditation gives you centering
on the center which Patanjali calls praman.
Why so much emphasis of every religion for meditation? Meditation must be doing
some inner miracle. This is the miracle: that meditation helps you to put on the
light of right knowledge. Then wherever you move, then wherever your focus
moves, whatsoever is known is true.
Buddha has been asked thousands and thousands of questions. One day somebody
asked him that, We come with new questions. We have not even put the question
before you and you start answering. You never think about it. How it happens?"
So Buddha says, "It is not a question of thinking. You put the question and,
simply, I look at it. And whatsoever is true is revealed. It is not a question
of thinking and brooding about it. The answer is not coming as a logical
syllogism. It is just a focusing of the right center."
Buddha is like a torch. So wherever the torch moves, it reveals. Whatsoever the
question, that is not the point. Buddha has the light, and whenever that light
will come on any question, the answer will be revealed. The answer will come out
of that light. It is a simple phenomenon, a revelation.
When somebody asks you, you have to think about it. But how can you think if you
don't know? If you know, there is no need to think. If you don't know, what you
will do? You will search in the memory, you will find many clues. You will just
do a patchwork. You don't know really; otherwise the response would have been
immediate.
I have heard about one teacher, a woman teacher in a primary school. And she
asked the children that, "Have you got any questions?" One small boy stood and
he said, "I have one question and I have been waiting -- whenever you ask I will
ask: what is the weight of the whole earth?"
She became disturbed because she has never thought about it, never read about
it. What is the weight of the whole earth? So she played a trick teachers know.
They have to play tricks. She said, "Yes, the question is significant. Now
tomorrow, everybody has to find the answer." She needed time. "So tomorrow I
will ask the question. Whoever brings the right answer there will be a present
for him."
All the children searched and searched, but they couldn't find. And the teacher
ran to the library. The whole night she searched, and only just by the morning
she could find the weight of the earth. She was very happy. And she came back to
school, and the children were there. And they were exhausted. They said they
couldn't find. "We asked Mom and we asked Dad and we asked everybody. Nobody
knows. This question seems to be so difficult,"
The teacher laughed and she said, "This is not difficult. I know the answer, but
I was just trying whether you could find it out or not. This is the weight of
the earth..." That small child who had raised the question, he stood again, and
he said, "With people or without?" Now the same situation.
You cannot put Buddha in such a situation. It is not a question of finding
somewhere; it is not really a question of answering you. Your question is just
an excuse. When you put a question, he simply moves his light toward that
question and whatsoever is revealed is revealed. He answers you; that's a deep
response of his right center -- praman.
Patanjali says there are five modifications of the mind. Right knowledge. If
this center of right knowledge starts functioning in you, you will become a
sage, a saint. You will become religious. Before that you cannot become
religious.
That's why Jesus or Mohammed, they look mad -- because they don't argue; they
don't put their case logically, they simply assert. You ask Jesus, "Are you
really the only son of God?" He says, "Yes." And if you ask him, "Prove it," he
will laugh. He will say, "There is no need to prove. I know This is the case;
this is self-evident." To us it looks illogical. This man seems to be neurotic,
claiming something without any proof.
If this praman, this center of prama, this center of right knowledge starts
functioning, you will be the same: you can assert, but you cannot prove. How can
you prove? If you are in love, how can you prove that you are in love? You can
simply assert. You have pain in your leg; how can you prove that you have pain?
You simply assert that, "I have pain." You know somewhere inside. That knowing
is enough.
Ramakrishna was asked, "Is there God?" He said "Yes." He was asked, "Then prove
it." He said, "There is no need. I know. To me, there is no need. To you there
is a need, so you search. Nobody could prove it for me I cannot prove it for
you. I had to seek; I had to find. And I have found. God is!"
This is the functioning of the right center. So Ramakrishna or Jesus look
absurd. They are claiming certain things without giving any proof. They are not
claiming; they are not claiming anything. Certain things are revealed to them
because they have a new center functioning which you don't have. And because you
don't have it you have to prove.
Remember, proving proves that you don't have an inner feeling of anything --
everything has to be proved even love has to be proved. And people go on. I know
many couples. The husband goes on proving that he loves, and he has not
convinced the wife, and the wife goes on proving that she loves, and she has not
convinced the husband. They remain unconvinced and that remains the conflict.
And they go on feeling that the other has not proved.
Lovers go on searching. They create situations in which you have to prove that
you love. And by and by both get bored -- this futile effort to prove, and
nothing can be proved. How can you prove love? You can give presents, but
nothing is proved. You can kiss and hug and you can sing, you can dance, but
nothing is proved. You may be just pretending.
This first modification of the mind is right knowledge. Meditation leads to this
modification. And when you can rightly know and there is no need to prove, then
only mind can be dropped, not before it. When there is no need to prove, mind is
not needed, because mind is a logical instrument.
You need it every moment. You have to think, find out what is wrong and what is
right. Every moment there is choices and alternatives. You have to choose. Only
when praman functions, when right knowledge functions, you can drop the mind,
because now choosing has no meaning. You move choicelessly. Whatsoever is right
is revealed to you.
The definition of the sage is one who never chooses. He never chooses good
against bad. He simply moves towards the direction which is that of good. It is
just like sunflowers. When the sun is in the east, the flower moves to the east.
It never chooses. When the sun moves to the west, the flower moves to the west.
It simply moves with the sun. It has not chosen to move; it has not decided. It
has not taken a decision that, "Now I should move because the sun has moved to
the west."
A sage is just like a sunflower. Wherever is good he moves simply. So whatsoever
he does is good. Upanishads say, "Don't judge sages. Your ordinary measurements
won't do." You have to do good against bad, he has nothing to choose. He simply
moves, whatsoever is good. And you cannot change him because it is not a
question of alternatives. If you say, "This is bad," he will say, "Okay, it may
be bad, but this is how I move, this is how my being flows."
Those who knew -- and people in the days of Upanishads knew -- they have decided
that, We will not judge a sage." Once a person has come to be centered in
himself, when a person has achieved meditation, once a person has become silent
and the mind has been dropped, he is beyond our morality, beyond tradition. He
is beyond our limitations. If we can follow, we can follow him if we cannot
follow, we are helpless. But nothing can be done, and we should not judge.
If right knowledge functions, if your mind has taken the modification of right
knowledge, you will become religious. Look, it is totally different. Patanjali
doesn't say if you go to the mosque, to the gurudwara, to the temple, you do
some ritual, you pray... No, that's not religion. You have to make your
right-knowledge center functioning. So whether you go to the temple or not, it
is immaterial; it doesn't matter. If your right-knowledge center functions,
whatsoever you do is prayer and wherever you go-is a temple.
Kabir has said, "Wherever I go I find you, my God. Wherever I move, I move into
you, I stumble upon you. And whatsoever I do, even walking, eating, it is
prayer." Kabir says, "This spontaneity is my samadhi. Just to be spontaneous is
my meditation."
Second is wrong knowledge. If your center of wrong knowledge is functioning,
then whatsoever you do you will do wrongly, and whatsoever you choose you will
choose wrongly. Whatsoever you decide will be wrong because you are not
deciding, the wrong center is functioning.
There are people, they feel very unfortunate because whatsoever they do goes
wrong. And they try not to do wrong again, but that's not going to help because
the center has to be changed. Their minds function in a wrong way. They may
think that they are doing good, but they will do bad. With all their good
wishes, they cannot help; they are helpless.
Mulla Nasruddin used to visit a saint. He visited for many, many days. And the
saint was a silent one; he will not speak anything. Then Mulla Nasruddin had to
say, he had to ask, "I have been coming again and again, waiting that you will
say something, and you have not said anything. And unless you say, I cannot
understand, so just give me a message for my life, a direction so that I can
move in that direction."
So that Sufi sage said, "NEKI KAR KUYEN MAY DAL: Do good and throw it in the
well." It is one of the oldest Sufi sayings: "Do good and throw it in the well."
It means do good and forget it immediately; don't carry that "I have done good."
So next day Mulla Nasruddin helped one old woman to cross the road, and then he
pushed her into the well.
"NEKI KAR KUYEN MAY DAL: DO good and throw it in the well."
If your wrong center is functioning, whatsoever you do... You can read Koran,
you can read Gita, and you will find meanings -- Krishna will be shocked,
Mohammed will be shocked to see that you can find such meanings.
Mahatma Gandhi wrote his autobiography with the intention that it will help
people. Then many letters came to him because he describes his sex life. He was
honest, one of the most honest men, so he wrote everything -- whatsoever has
happened in his past -- how he was too much indulgent the day his father was
dying; he couldn't sit by his side. Even that day he had to go with his wife to
bed.
And doctors had said that "This is the last night. Your father cannot survive
the morning. He will be dead by the morning." But just about twelve, one, in the
night, he started feeling desire, sexual desire. The father was feeling sleepy,
so he slipped away, went to his wife, indulged in sex. And the wife was
pregnant. It was the ninth month. And the father was dying, and the child also
died the moment he was born. And the father died in the night, so the whole life
Gandhi had a deep repentance he couldn't be with his dying father. Sex was so
obsessive.
So he wrote everything, he was honest-and just to help others. But many letters
started coming to him, and those letters were such that he was shocked. Many
people wrote to him that "Your autobiography is such that we have become more
sexual than before just reading. Just reading through your autobiography we have
become more sexual and indulgent. It is erotic."
If the wrong center is functioning, then nothing can be done. Whatsoever you do,
read, behave, it will be wrong. You will move to the wrong. You have a center
which is forcing you to move towards the wrong. You can go to Buddha, but
something wrong you will see in him. Immediately! You cannot meet Buddha;
something wrong you will see immediately. You have a focusing for the wrong, a
deep urge to find wrong anywhere, everywhere.
This modification of the mind Patanjali calls viparyaya. Viparyaya means
perversion. You pervert everything. You interpret everything in such a way it
becomes a perversion.
Omar Khayyam writes that "I have heard that God is compassionate." This is
beautiful. Mohammedans go on repeating, "God is rehman, compassion; rahim,
compassion." They go on repeating, continuously. So Omar Khayyam says, "If
really he is compassionate, if he is compassion, then there is no need to be
afraid. I can go on committing sin. If he is compassion, then what is the fear?
I can commit whatsoever I want and he is compassion -- so whenever I will stand
before him, I will say, rahim, rehman: Oh God of compassion, I have sinned, but
you are compassion. If you are really compassion, then have compassion on me."
So he goes on drinking, he goes on committing whatsoever he thinks is sin. He
has interpreted in a very perverted way.
All over the world people have done that. In India we say, "If you go to the
Ganges, if you bathe in the Ganges, your sins will dissolve." It was a beautiful
concept in itself. It shows many things. It shows that sin is not something very
deep, it is just like dust upon you. So don't get too much obsessed by it, don't
feel guilty; it is just dust, and you remain pure inside. Even bathing in the
Ganges can help.
This is just to show you, don't become so much obsessed with sin as Christianity
has become. Guilt has become so burdensome, so even just taking a bath in the
Ganges will help. Don't be so much afraid. But how we have interpreted it? We
say, "Then it is okay. Go on committing sin." And after a while, when you feel
now you have committed many, so give a chance to the Ganges to purify; then come
back and commit again. This is the center of perversion.
Third is imagination. Mind has the faculty to imagine. It is good, it is
beautiful. All that is beautiful has come through imagination. Paintings, art,
dance, music, everything that is beautiful has come through the imagination. But
everything that is ugly, that has also come through the imagination. Hitler,
Mao, Mussolini they have all come through imagination.
Hitler imagined a world of supermen. And he believed in Friedrich Nietzsche who
has said, "Destroy all those who are weak. Destroy all those who are not super.
Leave only supermen on the earth." So he destroyed. Just imagination, just
utopian imagination -- that just by destroying the weak, just by destroying the
ugly, just by destroying the physically crippled you will have a beautiful
world. But the very destruction is the most ugly thing in the world possible --
the very destruction.
But he was working through imagination. He had an imagination, a utopian
imagination -- the most imaginative man! Hitler is one of the most imaginative.
And his imagination became so fantastic and so mad that for his imaginative
world, he tried to destroy this world completely. His imagination has gone mad.
Imagination can give you poetry and painting and art, and imagination can give
you madness also. It depends how you use it. All the great scientific
discoveries have been through imagination -- people who could imagine, who could
imagine the impossible. Now we can fly into the air, now we can go to the moon.
These are deep imaginations. Man has been imagining for centuries, millennia,
how to fly, how to go to the moon. Every child is born with the desire to go to
the moon, to catch the moon. But we reached. Through imagination creativity
comes, but through imagination destruction also.
Patanjali says imagination is the third mode of mind. You can use it in a wrong
way, and then it will destroy you. You can use it in a right way. And then there
are imaginative meditations. They start with imagination, but by and by
imagination becomes subtler and subtler and subtler. And then imagination is
dropped ultimately, and you are face to face with the truth.
All Christian, Mohammedan meditations are basically through imagination. First
you have to imagine something. And then you go on imagining it, and then through
imagination you create an atmosphere around you. You try it, that through
imagination what is possible. Even impossible is possible.
If you think you are beautiful, if you imagine you are beautiful, a certain
beauty will start happening to your body. So whenever a man says to a woman that
"You are beautiful," the woman has changed immediately. She may not have been
beautiful. Before this moment she may not have been beautiful -- just homely,
ordinary. But this man has given imagination to her.
So every woman who is loved becomes more beautiful, every man who is loved
becomes more beautiful. A person who is not loved-may be beautiful -- becomes
ugly because he cannot imagine, she cannot imagine. And if imagination is not
there, you shrink.
Coue, one of the great psychologists of the West, helped millions of people just
through imagination to be cured of many, many diseases. His formula was very
simple. He will say that, "Just you start feeling that you are okay. Just go on
repeating inside the mind, I am getting better and better. Every day I am
getting better." In the night while you fall asleep, go on thinking you are
healthy, and you are getting healthier every moment, and by the morning you will
be the healthiest person in the world. Go on imagining."
And he helped millions of people. Even incurable diseases were cured. It looked
like a miracle; it is nothing. It is just a basic law: your mind follows
imagination.
Now psychologists say that if you say to children that "You are duffers, dull,"
they become dull. You force them to be dull. You give their imagination the
suggestion that they are dull.
Many experiments have been done. Say to a child, "You are dull. You cannot do
anything; you cannot solve this mathematical problem, and give him the problem
and tell him, "Now try," he will not be able to solve it. You have closed the
door. Say to the child, "You are intelligent and I have not seen any intelligent
boy like you are; for your stage, your age you are over-intelligent. You show
many potentialities; you can solve any problem. Now try this," and he will be
able to solve it. You have given imagination to him.
Now these are scientific proofs, now scientific discoverings, that whatsoever
imagination catches, it becomes a seed. Whole generations have been changed,
whole ages, whole countries have been changed, just through imagination.
You go Punjab. I was traveling once from Delhi to Manali. My driver was a Sikh,
a sardar. The way, the road, was dangerous, and the car was very big. And the
driver became many times afraid. And many times he will say, "Now I cannot go
ahead. We will have to go back." We tried in every way to persuade him. At one
point he became so afraid he stopped the car, got out of the car and said, "No!
Now I cannot move from here. It is dangerous," he said. "It may not be dangerous
for you; you may be ready to die. But I am not I want to go back."
By chance one of my friends who is also a sardar and was a big police official,
he was also coming, following me to attend the camp in Manali. His car reached,
so I told him that "Do something! The man has gone out of the car." That police
official came and he said, "You being a sardar, and a Sikh -- and a coward? Get
into the car." The man immediately came into the car and started. So I asked
him, "What is the matter?" He said "Now he has touched my ego. He says, You are
a sardar? " Sardar means leader of men. "A Sikh? And a coward? He has touched my
imagination. He has touched my pride. Now we can go. Dead or alive, but we will
reach Manali."
And this has not happened with one man. If you go to Punjab, you will see that
it has happened with millions. Look at the Hindus of Punjab and at the Sikhs of
Punjab. Their blood is same; they belong to the same race. Five hundred years
before all were Hindus. And then a different type of race, a military race, was
born. Just by growing beard, just by changing your face, you cannot become
brave. But you can! Imagination.
Nanak gave the imagination that "You are a different type of race. You are
unconquerable." And once they believe, once that imagination started to work, in
the Punjab, within five hundred years, a new race, totally different from
Punjabi Hindus has come into being. Nothing is different. But in India, no one
is braver than they. These two world wars have proved that on whole of the earth
Sikhs have no comparison. They can fight fearlessly.
What has happened? Just their imagination has created a milieu around them. They
feel that just being Sikhs they are different. Imagination works It can make a
brave man out of you, it can make a coward.
I have heard Mulla Nasruddin was sitting in a pub drinking. He was not a brave
man, one of the most coward. But alcohol gave him courage. And then a man, a
giant of a man, entered the pub ferocious looking, dangerous, looked like a
murderer. At any other time, in his senses, Mulla Nasruddin would have been
afraid. But now he was drunk, so he was not afraid at all.
That ferocious looking man came near to Mulla, and seeing that he is not afraid
at all he stomped on his feet. Mulla got angry, furious, and he said, "What are
you doing? Are you doing that on purpose or it is just a sort of joke?" But by
this time, his stomping on his feet, Mulla was brought back from his alcohol. He
was brought back; he came to his senses. But he has said, "What are you doing --
on purpose or it is just a sort of joke?"
The man said, "On purpose." Mulla Nasruddin said, "Then thank you. On purpose,
it is okay, because I don't like such type jokes"
Patanjali says imagination is the third faculty. You go on imagining. If you
wrongly imagine, you can create delusions around you, illusions, dreams -- you
can be lost in them. LSD and other drugs, they help and work on this center. So
whatsoever inside potentiality you have, your LSD trip will help you to develop
it. So nothing is certain. If you have happy imaginations, the drug trip will be
a happy trip, a high. If you have miserable imaginations, nightmarish
imaginations, the trip is going to be bad.
That's why many people report contradictorily. Huxley says that it can become a
key to the door of heaven and Rheiner says it is ultimate hell. It depends on
you; LSD cannot do anything. It simply jumps on your center of imagination,
starts functioning chemically there. If you have an imagination of the
nightmarish type, then you will develop that and you will pass through hell. And
if you are addicted to beautiful dreams, you may reach heaven.
This imagination can function either as a hell or as heaven. You can use it to
go completely insane. What has happened to madmen in the madhouses? They have
used their imagination, and they have used it in such a way that they are
engulfed by it. A madman may be sitting alone and he is talking to someone
loudly. Not only he talks, he answers also. He questions, he answers, he speaks
for the other also who is absent. You may think that he is mad, but he is
talking to a real person. In his imagination the person is real, and he cannot
judge what is imaginary and what is real.
Children cannot judge. So many times children may lose their toy in the dream,
and then they will weep in the morning, "Where is my toy?" They cannot judge
that dream is dream and reality is reality. And they have not lost anything,
they were just dreaming. Boundaries are blurred. They don't know where dream
ends and where reality starts.
A madman also is blurred. He doesn't know what is real, what is unreal. If
imagination is used rightly, then you will know that this is imagination and you
will remain alert that this is imagination. You can enjoy it, but this is not
real.
So when people meditate, many things happen through their imagination. They
start seeing lights, colors, visions, talking to God himself, or moving with
Jesus, or dancing with Krishna. These are imaginative things, and a meditator
has to remember that these are functions of the imagination. You can enjoy it;
nothing is wrong in them -- they are fun. Don't think that they are real.
Remember that only the witnessing consciousness is real; nothing else is real.
Whatsoever happens may be beautiful, worth enjoying -- enjoy it. It is beautiful
to dance with Krishna; nothing is wrong in it. Dance! Enjoy it! But remember
continuously that this is imagination, a beautiful dream. Don't be lost in it.
If you are lost, then imagination has become dangerous. Many religious people
are just in imagination. And they move in imagination and waste their lives.
The fourth is sleep. Sleep means unconsciousness as far as your outward-moving
consciousness is concerned. It has gone deep into itself. Activity has stopped;
conscious activity has stopped. Mind is not functioning. Sleep is a
non-functioning of the mind. If you are dreaming, then it is not sleep. You are
just in the middle, in the waking and the sleep. You have left the waking, and
you have not entered sleep. You are just in the middle.
Sleep means totally contentless state -- no activity, no movement in the mind.
Mind has completely been absorbed, relaxed. This sleep is beautiful; it is
life-giving. You can use it. And this sleep if you know how to use it, can
become samadhi. Because samadhi and sleep are not very different. Only one
difference is there that in samadhi you will be aware. Everything else will be
the same.
In sleep everything is the same, only that you are not aware. You are in the
same bliss in which Buddha entered, in which Ramakrishna lives, in which Jesus
has made his home. In deep sleep you are in the same blissful state, but you are
not aware. So in the morning you feel the night has been good, in the morning
you feel refreshed, vital, rejuvenated, in the morning you feel that the night
was just beautiful -- but this is just an afterglow. You don't know what has
happened, what really happened. You were not aware.
Sleep can be used in two ways. Just as a natural rest -- you have even lost
that. People are not really going into sleep. They continuously go on dreaming.
Sometimes, for very few seconds, they touch. They touch, and they again start
dreaming. The silence of sleep, the blissful music of sleep, has become unknown.
You have destroyed it. Even natural sleep is destroyed. You are so agitated and
excited that the mind cannot fall completely into oblivion.
But Patanjali says natural sleep is good for the body health, and if you can
become alert in sleep it can become samadhi, it can become a spiritual
phenomenon. So there are techniques -- we will discuss them later on -how sleep
can become an awakening. Gita says that the yogi doesn't sleep even while he is
asleep. He remains alert. Something inside goes on being aware. The whole body
falls into sleep, the mind falls into sleep, but the witnessing remains. Someone
is watching -- a watcher on the tower goes on. Then sleep becomes samadhi. It
becomes the ultimate ecstasy.
And the last is memory. Memory is the fifth modification of the mind. That too
can be used, misused. If memory is misused, it creates confusion. Really, you
may remember something, but you cannot be certain whether it happened that way
or not. Your memory is not reliable. You may add many things in it; imagination
may enter into it. You may delete many things from it, you may do many things to
it. And when you say that "This is my memory," it is a very refined and changed
thing. It is not real.
Everybody says that "My childhood was just paradise," and look at children These
children will also say later on that their childhood was paradise, and they are
suffering. And every child hankers how to grow soon, how to become an adult.
Every child thinks that adults are enjoying, all that is worth enjoying they are
enjoying. They are powerful; they can do everything, he is helpless. Children
think they are suffering, but these children will grow as you have grown, and
then later on they will say that childhood was beautiful, just a paradise.
Your memory is not reliable. You are imagining; you are just creating your past.
You are not true to it. And you drop many things from it -- all that was ugly,
all that was sad, all that was painful you drop it; all that was beautiful you
continue. All that was a support to your ego you remember, and all that was not
a support you drop it, you forget it.
So everybody has a great storehouse of dropped memories. And whatsoever you say
is not true, you cannot remember truly. All your centers are confused, and they
enter into each other and disturb.
Right memory. Buddha has used the words "right memory" for meditation. Patanjali
says if memory is right, that means one has to be totally honest to oneself.
Then, only then, can memory be right. Whatsoever has happened, bad or good,
don't change it. Know it as it is. It is very hard! It is arduous! You choose
and change. Knowing one's past as it is will change your whole life. If you
rightly know your past as it is, you will not like to repeat it in the future.
Right now everybody is thinking how to repeat it in a modified form, but if you
know your past exactly as it was you will not like to repeat it.
Right memory will give you the impetus how to be free from all lives. And if
memory is right, then you can go even in past lives. If you are honest, then you
can go into the past lives. And then you have only one desire, how to transcend
all this nonsense. But you think past was beautiful, and you think future is
going to be beautiful, only this present is wrong. But the past was present a
few days before, and the future will become present a few days after. And every
time every present is wrong, and all past is beautiful and all future is
beautiful. This is wrong memory. Look directly. Don't change. Look at the past
as it was. But we are dishonest.
Every man hates his father, but if you ask anybody he will say, "I love my
father. I honor my father as anything." Every woman hates her mother, but ask
and every woman will say, "My mother, she is just divine." This is wrong memory.
Gibran has a story. He says, one night one mother and daughter were awakened
suddenly because of a noise. They both were sleepwalkers, and the time the
sudden noise happened in the neighborhood they were both walking in the garden,
asleep. They were sleep-walkers.
It must have been a shock, because in sleep the old woman, the mother, was
saying to the daughter that, "Because of you, you bitch, because of you, my
youth is lost. You destroyed me. And now anybody who comes to the house looks at
you. Nobody looks at me." A deep jealousy that comes to every mother when the
daughter becomes young and beautiful. It happens to every mother, but it is
inside.
And the daughter was saying, "You old rotten... Because of you I cannot enjoy
life. You are the hindrance. Everywhere you are the hindrance, the obstacle. I
cannot love; I cannot enjoy."
And suddenly, because of the noise, they were both awakened. And the old woman
said, "My child, what are you doing here? You may catch cold. Come inside." And
the daughter said, "But what are you doing here? You were not feeling well and
this is a cold night. Come, mother. Come to the bed."
The first thing that was happening was coming from the unconscious. Now they are
again pretending; they have become awakened. Now the unconscious has gone back,
the conscious has come in. Now they are hypocrites. Your conscious is hypocrisy.
To be truly honest with one's own memories one will have to really pass through
arduous effort. And you have to be true, whatsoever. You have to be nakedly
true, you have to know what really you think about your father, about your
mother, about your brother, about your sister-really. And what you have in the
past, don't mix, don't change, don't polish; let it be as it is. If this
happens, then, Patanjali says, this will be a freedom. You will drop it. The
whole thing is nonsense, and you will not like to project it again in the
future.
And then you will not be a hypocrite. You will be real, true, sincere -- you
will become authentic. And when you become authentic, you become like a rock.
Nothing can change you; nothing can create confusion.
You become like a sword. You can always cut whatsoever is wrong; you can divide
whatsoever is right from the wrong. And then a clarity of mind is achieved. That
clarity can lead you towards meditation; that clarity can become the basic
ground to grow -- to grow beyond.
