Salutation to Agni (The
God of Fire)
who inhabits the earth, who is
contemplated upon by the worlds.
Establish this world for he who sacrifices.
"Salutation to Agni (The
God of Fire) who inhabits the earth" -
Agni symbolises the nuclear fire core which exists in the Kundalini Chakra
Center of the planet Earth, which has heated this planet for 4 Billions of
Years. The Base Chakra, Muladhara Chakra is built to access these Kundalini
Chakra energies external to the physical body in the Center of the earth yet
incorporated into the spiritual body of one who is enlightened. As the spiritual
body is immortal and we humans are a part of God, then this is the way in which
we are spiritually incorporated into the immortal body of God.

The center of the Earth is contemplated upon by the Universe of Worlds or God
who is constantly sending his energy into this world from many worlds, the
center of the Universe and an infinity of chakras above the Crown Chakra. This
stream of Energy is the Breath of God, commonly called Kundalini Energy. By
getting our spines into alignment with the energies of God from the center of
the earth into the center of the universe, so we enliven ourselves to our
fullest evolution.

means create the clear connection between the base chakra and Kundalini Chakra
in the center of the earth, of the human being who is meditating to remove his

his energy blockages as we throw our sins as pine cones

Agni Hotra) into the sacred fires in many fire ceremonies from all parts of the
earth.
These ceremonies symbolise the real sacrifice. Not the sacrifice of blood, of
animals, of live human beings. These ceremonies symbolise the sacrifice of
energy blockages, burning them up, removing them, transmuting them, in the
nuclear fire core which exists in the Kundalini Chakra Center of the planet
Earth.

Many of these energy blockages exist implanted between the base chakra and the
center of the earth in those people who have been implanted in previous
lifetimes - almost everyone.
Implanted blockages are put there in the Base Chakra to destroy and enslave; to
defeat or de-feet enemies so that they can be vampirised; drained of their
energy lifetime after lifetime - basically creating a slave.

In the Taoist sense that energy or the Tao which flows between Heaven and Earth.
In the Hindu sense it is Ananda. In the Christian Sense it is the Holy Spirit.
When that energy is reflected back from the center of the earth towards the
center of the universe then it becomes Kundalini Energy 180 degrees out of phase
with the energy coming down from the center of the universe.
That flowing energy has a spiral of Magnetic energy circling around it.
Being 180 degrees out of phase allows the two spirals to intertwine like DNA.
Spiritual DNA forming an Antahkarana or Column of Protection.
AS ABOVE, SO BELOW..
These two streams of energy flowing between Heaven and Earth form a circle of
energies of Spiritual DNA activated by the Ancient Egyptian Spiritual Technology
of the Merkaba.
These two streams of energy flowing between Heaven and Earth are symbolised by
the two Masonic Pillars Joachim and Boaz as you can see in the diagrams below.
These pillars were also symbolised in the Two Towers recently destroyed in New
York as most cities built over the last centuries have these spiritual truths
built into their Architecture as "Cities of God" in the Augustinian sense.

These two streams of energy flowing there and back between Heaven and Earth are
the Reciprocal Maintenance of Gurdjieff whereby the whole universe is maintained
by the infinite energy of God whose aim is to so raise the energies of the
earth, and every being living on this yet to be created, "Holy Planet" so that
no Trauma-Created Negative Karmic Mass can exist to show a difference between
the Will of God and the Individual Wills of Humanity. As the breath of God flows
into Trauma-Created Negative Karmic Mass so it tends to activate it as it
energises it to dissolve it. Thus karma, bad moods and wars are created when
astrological events super-energise the planet and all humanity from time to
time, as said Gurdjieff.
The Sacrifice
- is the Sacrifice of Trauma-Formed Negative Karmic Mass - that dense substance
which is formed when anything bad happens - that energy which coats energy
blockages and which stops the passage of spiritual energy from God - it is the
Sacrifice of that energy of Trauma-Formed Negative Karmic Mass which is, which
can be burnt up in the Center of the Earth by the sacred Alchemical Technique of
VITRIOL.

Gurdjieff died in 1949, about
the same year as Ramana Maharshi.
Gurdjieff essentially
synthesized ancient esoteric teachings and made them approachable and applicable
to the lives of rational Western individuals. His concepts and methods are still
seminal in the spiritual work of the west.
A seeker will find in his
teachings an immeasurable treasure, the essence of so many other teachings, both
spiritual and psychological, on the inner life.
This Gurdjieffian
extraordinary system of thought, which ranges from the most intimate,
psychological insights to a grandiose cosmology linking the individual with the
universe, is a synthesis of practices and teachings known as The Fourth Way.
Then there is the man himself.
Gurdjieff was the archetypal Master, beaming with extraordinary psychic powers
developed in secret schools and monasteries somewhere between the Caucasus and
the Himalayas; brutal soul-shattering insights; marvelous humor which was both
ribald in the extreme and breathtakingly penetrating.
Gurdjieff also had a capacity
for love that was matched only by his ability to express rage. He was a master
hypnotist, a master actor, a master healer.
Those who encountered him
often had opposite ideas of who he was, usually as a result of his own
intentional behavior.
Like many Masters, Gurdjieff
sometimes gave the impression of being a charlatan or mad to arrogant egotistic
individuals, while to others he was the most enlightened man they would ever
encounter.
His radiant energy, the
Buddhafield of the Master, always acted on people's negative energies to send
people with a lot of it away, and attracted people with a lot of good, positive
Soul energy.
"Like most intelligent people he felt that intellectuals were intensely
stupid. For an example, as an artist he now knew that low intellectual
critics were put to sleep by their blockages when viewing anything with
energy encoded within it. One of the symptoms of blockages in people is that
they easily go to sleep in the presence of kundalini energy. " Energy

In such a way, as with all
Masters, Gurdjieff consciously separated the evil weeds from the good grain!
This powerful Master
Gurdjieff, with eyes that pierced to the depths of the soul was also an old man
whose pockets were full of candy for the children.
He worked by many methods, to
bypass the mind he worked with dance, Gurdjieff said, "I am a simple teacher of
dance".

And when he explained the
theory of the evolution of substances like hydrogens and oxygens in Ouspensky's
book, "The Fourth Way", Gurdjieff was just tricking him, taking a very long
winded intellectual theory to say to intellectual Ouspensky and to anyone else
reading it, to bypass the mind, "You need the radiation, the Shaktipat, the
Buddhafield, of a Master to quicken
your evolution!"
Gurdjieff's
major concepts were
Buffers or Energy Blockages, Mechanical people, Sub Personalities and the Soul
Personality or Essence. Mechanical People.
For Gurdjieff and Ouspensky, mechanical persons are the mass of humanity and are
asleep to their true condition and virtually incapable of change. "By himself,
he is just an automaton with a certain store of memories of previous
experiences, and a certain amount of reserve energy."
Everything happens to us as to
puppets pulled by invisible strings.
Sub Personalities.
Another central idea of Gurdjieff is that the individual is not one. We have no
permanent "I" or Ego. Every thought, feeling, sensation, desire is an "I" or sub
personality which believes that it is the whole person.
Yet none of these "I's" are
connected and each depends on the change of external circumstances. To make
things worse, there are often impenetrable defenses between each "I" which the
Work calls "buffers" or "Energy Blockages" separating these sub - personalities
or Alters from one another.
Gurdjieff states that one of
our most important mistakes we make is our illusion about our unity. Gurdjieff
writes: "His "I" changes as quickly as his thoughts, feelings, and moods, and he
makes the profound mistake in considering himself always one and the same
person; in reality he is always a different person, not the one he was a moment
ago."
Our every thought and desire
lives separately and independently from the whole. According to Gurdjieff, we
are made of thousands of separate I's, often unknown to one another, and
sometime mutually exclusive and hostile to each other.
The alternation of I's is
controlled by accidental external influences. There is nothing in us able to
control the change of I's, mainly because we do not notice it. Each separate I
calls itself "I" and acts in the name of the whole person. This explains why
people so often make decisions and so seldom carry them out.
Gurdjieff healed alcoholism
and drug addiction the addictive sub personalities in rich young men by
means of hypnotism, and was once paid an oil tanker for his work by the family
of one such. But to remove ALL the sub personalities and access the one Soul
Personality in Enlightenment requires much more conscious work of the student.
Essence, the
soul connection, soul personality
and personality. In
order to see clearly the roots of our psychological distortions, Gurdjieff's
Fourth Way defines two aspects of the individual: essence and the multitude of
fleeting sub personalities. Essence, the soul personality, is what a person is
born with, sub - personalities are that which are acquired, usually by some
traumatic event, usually in childhood or in past lifetimes which splits the childish sub
personality from the Soul stem.
All that is learned, both
unconsciously through imitation and through acquired likes and dislikes,
constitutes the outer part of the person, that which is changed by outer
circumstances. Though personality is necessary, it must not be left to dominate
essence or it will produce artificial persons, sub personalities cut off from
their true natures, or the soul itself.
"This means that with a quick
and early growth of personality, growth of essence can practically stop at a
very early age, and as a result we see men and women externally quite grown up,
but whose essence remains at the age of ten or twelve." The Energy Enhancement
concept of the inner child which needs to be healed and integrated back into the
One - the Soul Chakra - before it can grow up.
Through the practice of Energy
Enhancement Soul Contact Meditation and the Energy Enhancement 7step Process, we can separate ourselves from the
pretenses and imitations which have enslaved us since childhood and return to
who we actually are.
Such a return to our essential
nature is accompanied by a sense of liberation unlike any other. "To thyself be
true" is the first commandment on the way of self-development and the attaining
of a higher consciousness.
The fundamental abnormality in
human beings lies precisely in the divergence between personality and soul -
essence. The more nearly we know ourselves for what we are, the more we approach
wisdom.
The more our imagination about
ourselves diverges from what we actually are, the more insane we become:
Gurdjieff, "Unless a man first finds himself, finds his own essential nature and
destiny, and begins from them, all his efforts and achievements will be built
only on the sand of personality, and at the first serious shock the whole
structure will crumble, perhaps destroying him in its fall."
Examples of shocks are
disappointment and bereavement. Only the ego gets hurt. The Soul personality is
never affected by disappointment or bereavement. These are two of the tests that
this should be so within you!
The soul essence is the
totality of the moments of self-awareness during one's life. Yet moments of
higher consciousness are very rare and gone as soon as they come - "I saw a
glimpse out of the corner of my eye, I turned to look but it was gone, and now I
have become, Comfortably Numb" - Pink Floyd. Once again,
the reason such self-consciousness is so difficult to attain is that it is
dependent on the conscious use of attention.

Gurdjieff required that each
person verify the teachings for themselves based on their personal observations
and experiences. That is why he rarely mentioned the idea of "God" even though
he called his teaching "esoteric Christianity."
His task was to help people
free themselves from all that is false and imaginary in order that they might
become receptive to their higher self and enter uncharted dimensions of
consciousness on their own through liberation from the tyranny of their ego.
It is for this reason that
Gurdjieff was so merciless on his students. He crushed the vanity and artifice
of the sub - personalities, mocking those who thought they understood something.
As we say in Energy Enhancement, "It is only the ego which gets hurt!"
Gurdjieff differentiated
between two forms of knowing: knowledge and understanding. The first is of the
head, the second is that which takes root in our being and transforms us. He did
indeed humiliate many egos stuffed with pride and broke people's confidence in
their own importance.
Gurdjieff tore through our
most cherished beliefs with astonishing force and irreverence, stung our
vanities with brutal honesty, and called us to that ultimate journey toward the
consciousness of who we are and who we are meant to be.
His "toast to the idiots"
stung the ego but gave great information to the humble on where to start the
spiritual work.
Behind the exotic masks of
Gurdjieff, the oriental magician-rogue-teacher, was great compassion. Children
and animals sensed it, while seekers of all classes and types found healing and
new life from his sometimes bizarre requirements.
Gurdjieff came to wake us with
uncompromising affection and assist us accessing our deeper selves. No one walks
away unchanged from the teachings of this intense Master who has taught us to
discover someone even more elusive than himself: the true nature of our being.

Gurdjieff explained the

the organ kundabuffer had been removed from the three-brained beings of your
planet, the first generations of their descendants very soon learned that a
certain substance had to be transformed through them and that their assistance
in this transformation was one of their chief being-duties.

The Central Spiritual sun
sends, shines energy, Affirming Influences, to earth in different quantities at

Human beings and all nature
have been created to transmute those different quantities of energy through a
Reciprocal Maintenance meditation and send back Denying Influences to the

Energy Enhancement Meditation
is the Reciprocal Maintenance
Meditation of Gurdjieff which evolves humanity, creating the higher being bodies of the soul

These two streams of energy flowing there and back between Heaven and Earth form
the circulation of the energies flowing in the Acupuncture Governing and Central

The Vayu, "Breath of God" is contemplated upon by the Universe of Worlds or God
who is constantly sending his energy of his breath into this world from many worlds, the
center of the Universe and an infinity of chakras above the Crown Chakra. This
stream of Energy is the Breath of God, commonly called Kundalini Energy. By
getting our spines into alignment with the energies of God from the center of
the earth into the center of the universe, so we enliven ourselves to our
fullest evolution.

The
passageway for the
"Breath of God" between the Center of the Universe through an Infinity of
chakras and the Earth is called the Antahkarana to the Crown Chakra and the
Sutrama to the Heart Chakra in the center of the chest needs to be purified of
blockages to establish it.
To establish this Antahkarana connection means to purify it of all Energy
Blockages which is what we do with the Seven Step Process of Energy Enhancement
Level 2. Implant Blockages above the Crown Chakra and the Soul, called the
Astral Plane, are quite normal and are created to drain energy from that
connection, to vampirise your energy and the energy sent to you from God. They
tend to lead people onto bad paths and end up in situations designed to create
despair because the energy given at birth is drained more quickly and strongly
in many short fast lives.
As the implant blockages are implanted higher they have less local effects but
are stronger in creating a lack of empathy - blockages in the Sutrama of the
heart and a lack of conscience - blockages in the antahkarana between the Crown
and the Center of the Universe, which is the primary definition of a psychopath.
These implant Blockages cut you off from the enlivening energies of God,
creating cynicism, Anomie, a Lack of Faith and all of the Seven Deadly Sins -
the normal condition of Humanity for thousands of Years. We need to sacrifice
these bad things.
As we remove the Implant
Blockages above the crown chakra so we become normal - compassionate, energetic,
liberated, the ability to get things done - Enlightened.

The final part of the trinity
including the earth and the breath, Antahkarana Connection is Heaven; high,

Gurdjieff referred to, "Our
All Father Endlessness" as the, "Central Spiritual Sun" yet even this is not
high enough.
There are an infinity of
chakras above the head ending in the One God with 10,000 names.
Each of the chakras steps down the high energy of God, so that the chakra
beneath can take the charge. Your evolution depends upon how high you can reach.
The Spiritual Masters refer to the energy above the head as, "Brighter than Ten
Thousand Suns" Union, alignment, with this energy is Samadhi which leads on to
Illumination; EnLightenment. Then you glow with the light of the Soul. Soul
Fusion.
So, talking about Aditya (The God of the Sun) as that which inhabits the Sky is
good but there are still higher energies. The Sun is just one of the Higher
Chakras - High Archangels who step down the energy of God to everyone on the
planet.
The Sun channels the energy of God.
So this Aditya Sun final part of the Holy Trinity represents, symbolises, the
Father, "who art in Heaven", Brahma., the One God with 10,000 names.

The Worlds are the infinity of chakras within the Antahkarana connection
between Heaven and Earth which channel the energy of God. As each chakra steps
down the energy of God to the Chakra beneath it, so every world, every chakra is
contemplated and sent energy by God. The One God with 10,000 names.

Likewise the chakras above the head are worlds and suns with more energy, higher
function, more effect the more higherarchically higher they are. Each chakra is
made up of many different sized and of different levels of evolution, Ordered
Angel Matrixes - ordered like a crystal because all impurity - trauma-formed
negative karmic mass - has been transmuted, removed in the energy enhancement
transmutative alchemical process. Each ordered crystalline Angel Matrix is a
function. Like the connection Antahkarana, each chakra can also contain
energy blockages which need to be removed.
Whilst the body on this planet dies and becomes dust when it dies, the chakras
above the head live on forever. Only through fusion with the chakras above the
head can we realise our immortality. The first chakra above the head is the
Soul. Soul fusion is Illumination, EnLightenment.
In Energy Enhancement Level 2 - The Seven Step Process, we learn how to remove
energy blockages above the crown chakra and in each chakra above the crown. The
Soul Chakra is the first chakra above the head to be purified of all of its
energy blockages. Enlightenment is Fusion of all your chakras with the Soul

Then this world, this chakra is Established, purified, ordered in a crystalline
angel matrix, when all the Negative Karmic Mass - NKM and Energy Blockages have been sacrificed,
burnt up, destroyed, transmuted - turned into Alchemical GOLD!!
The chakra above the Soul is the Monad or the group of Souls to which we belong
- very much the Mayan idea of "Tribes" (for example, Enlazador del Mundos or
synthesiser of worlds, bringer together of worlds, or Warrior) which define our
character, our talents, our reason for being, our life purpose.
Whilst a Soul Infused person has removed all blockages from his Soul Group a
Monad Infused person is responsible for removing all blockages, Implants and
Sub-Personalities from his Monad Group, perhaps 500,000 people.
The Logos is the group of all the Monads on the planet comprising 200 billions
of souls - most out of incarnation at this moment. A Logos Infused person is a
World Teacher, responsible for removing all blockages on this Planet, like
Buddha, or the Christ.
Each Sun is a High Chakra, some suns are bigger and more ordered and are called
Sacred Suns, like Sirius the sun of Osiris and some say also the Chakra of the
Christ. The purpose of Sirius is to purify and order this Planet, the whole
Logos which is an Archangel in charge of the is planet, all Ascended Masters and

Translated means Yogas or Union or Enlightenment comes by removing or Nirodha

The cita is always represented by the
crescent moon in both the OM sign and the flags of many muslim nations - forming
the shape of a cup or chalice or in this case a pot. The moon is because the
first cause is the soul and the minds function is to be filled by the higher,
and not the lower, energies. The Sun powers the Moon.

filled by the Light of the Soul.

Dark Side, sometimes for many lifetimes.
We join the dark Side consciously or
unconsciously.
Consciously
by joining a dark side group espousing anomie, belieflessness, faithlessness,
criticism and existentialism, or unconsciously by using a Strategy like the Angry Violator, Connector, Depressed Poor Me
or Selfish Competitive Star or by becoming a Golem Gollum - an
empathyless, conscienceless James Bond Sociopath.
I forgot worldly shame and only then my task was accomplished,
There we continue to grow psychically as
an energy vampire until the result of this bad karma is the we are defeated, De
- feeted, betrayed and enslaved by the dark side. At this bottom point,
forgetting our worldly shame only, do we decide to follow the path of
light. Only then can our major task of Enlightenment be accomplished.

week of the Energy Enhancement Course.
From the start I felt the energy to be well grounded, healing and strong.
The moves/excercises we did were different from what I have come across
before in Yoga or other systems.
They were very grounding and balancing. I especially felt the balancing
effect of the left and right side of my body, the "Dropping Down of my
energy and grounding of negative energy.
Also there was a feeling of connection to higher energy.
On the second time I was experiencing some heavy and difficult energies and
trauma from a previous accident. Half way through the class there was a
strong snap from my hip and release of tension and bad feeling. After that I
felt that a lot of negative tension dropped from my body.
After two sessions I am that the mobility of my accident injured hip has
gotten noticeably better and my whole being has cleared from a lot of
tension and negativity. This has been replaced by positive clear energy.

The Energy Enhancement Course July 2008
One of the
differences between Energy Enhancement and a normal meditation Course is
that Energy Enhancement is experiential - you get direct experience of
psychic powers, blockages, visions of past lives, a direct experience of
reality which leads on to a steady practice of Blockage removal and so, on
towards freedom and liberation in this lifetime.
One of the ways to understand this is to read the experiences of our
students on the course which are available in two or three large pages on
the site. They all say the same thing, that Energy Enhancement works and
with Energy Enhancement you can move along your path of spirituality faster
than with any other path.
The teachers, Satchidanand and Devi Dhyani have been teaching Energy
Enhancement now for almost twenty years and have much experience with
students and with meditation. They come from a line of Masters who initiated
them in Sannyas before they too took on the task of world teaching.
Satchidanand from Sivananda of Rishikesh having been initiated by

When we become a stream enterer, we tap into the Energies of the Earth and
of Heaven and through energising our faculties, we start to have spiritual
experiences beyond the norm. We start to feel and see energy to start with,
which always comes to every student.
It happens with all of our students...
One of our students was saying that she felt our energies, our auras were much bigger,
wider, than the normal peoples. She could feel that this was so because we
were drawing energy down from the center of the universe and grounding it
into the center of the earth.
Another student said that when he was young, he saw that most adults were
not in. They never noticed him and the few that did he liked the best. He
felt that most people were "not in" and this feeling was compounded by the
Energy Enhancement Meditations which raised his energy levels such that when
he walked down the street in the middle of the course, he saw that most
people were not awake. They were simply scuttling by with the mentality of
ants with a sort of group instinct. Most people he felt were not awake and
in many cases he felt they were afraid of waking up.
Like most intelligent people he felt that intellectuals were intensely
stupid. For an example, as an artist he now knew that low intellectual
critics were put to sleep by their blockages when viewing anything with
energy encoded within it. One of the symptoms of blockages in people is that
they easily go to sleep in the presence of kundalini energy.
Thus anything with higher energies to them was incredibly boring because
they are going to sleep. This was from the fact that the most highly
spiritual films of the 20th century were universally hated by 100% of all
critics when they first came out and essentially were all still hated,
although intensely loved by the common people. Titles like Star Wars, Lord
of the Rings - the book and the movies, and The Last Samurai come to mind
amongst many others - hated by the critics, yet loved by those who have the
evolution and thus the ability feel energy..
People are not all at the same energy level. People are not all at the same
evolutionary level. We work in monadic groups, in tribes encapsulated by the
Mayan Astrology, and all these tribes contain people of the same energy
level. A guru, a Sat Guru is one of the people in the Monadic group who has
woken up, become aware, enlightened and thus becomes responsible for the
evolution of the Group.
Thus the people who are called to the group of Energy Enhancement which is
one of the seed groups involved in the Evolution of the world.
Thus the people who are called to LIBERATION, FREEDOM... ILLUMINATION

A Sufi of the Order of the Naqshbandis was asked, "Your orders
name means literally "The Designers". What do you design, and what use is it?"

"Unjustly imprisoned, a tinsmith was allowed to receive a rug woven by his wife.
He prostrated himself upon the rug day after day to say his prayers, and after

wretchedly paid. But I am a tinsmith. Bring me tin and tools and I shall make
small artifacts which you can sell in the market, and we will both benefit."
The guards agreed to this, and presently they and the tinsmith were both making
a profit, from which they bought food and comfort for themselves.
Then one day, when the guards went to the cell, the door was open, and he was
gone.
Many years later when the mans innocence had been established. the man who had
imprisoned him asked how he had escaped, what magic wand he had used. He said,
"It is a matter of design within design. My wife is a weaver. She found the man
who had made the locks of the cell door, and got the design from him. This she
wove into the carpet at the spot where my head touches in prayer five times a
day. I am a metal worker, and this design looked to me like the inside of a
lock. I designed the plan of the artefacts to obtain the materials to make the
key - and I escaped.
That, said the Naqshbandi Sufi, is one of the ways in which man may make his
escape from the tyranny of his captivity.

My Experience Using the Energy Enhancement DVD Video Course Prior to coming on

Im
getting stuck straight in, its amazing, because the very first time i got
the sitting position correct. I could feel the energy flowing up my spine

When the Empress entered, Fa Tsang lit the candle. The Empress cried, 'How
marvelous! How beautiful!'
Fa Tsang pointed at the reflection of the flame in each one of the ten
mirrors and said, 'See Your Majesty, this demonstrates the relationship of
the One and the many, of God to each one of his creatures.'
The Empress said, 'Yes, indeed, Master. And what is the relationship of
each creature to the others?'
Fa Tsang answered, 'Just watch, Your Majesty, how each mirror not only
reflects the one flame in the centre, each mirror also reflects the
reflections of the flame in all the other mirrors, until an infinite number
of flames fills them all. All these reflections are mutually identical; in a
sense they are interchangeable, in another sense each one exists
individually. This shows the true relationship of each being to its
neighbour, to all that is. Of course, I must point out, Your Majesty,' Fa
Tsang went on, 'that this is only a rough, approximate, and static parable
of the real state of affairs in the universe. For the universe is limitless
and in it all is in perpetual multi-dimensional motion.' Then the Master
covered one of the infinite number of reflections of the flame and showed
how each apparently insignificant interference affects the whole organism of
our world.
Kegon expresses this relationship by the formula:
One In All
All In One
One In One
All In All
Then Fa Tsang, in order to conclude his command performance, held up a
small crystal ball and said, 'Now watch, Your Majesty, how all these large
mirrors and all the myriad forms they reflect are mirrored in this little
sphere. See, how in the ultimate reality the infinitely small contains the
infinitely large, and the infinitely large the infinitely small, without
obstruction! Oh, if only I could demonstrate to you the unimpeded mutual
interpenetration of time and eternity, of past, present and future. But
alas, this is a dynamic process that must be grasped on a different
level...'
Man is not an island; nothing is. All is interrelated, all is
interdependent. Independence -- the very word -- is false, so is dependence.
The reality is interdependence.
Everything is so deeply connected with everything else that nothing can
exist apart. If you can understand a small rose flower in its totality, root
and all, you will have understood the whole cosmos, because the whole cosmos
is involved in that small rose flower. In the smallest leaf of grass all is
contained.
But remember, as Fa Tsang said to the Empress: All illustrations, all
descriptions are static, and existence is a dynamic flux. It is a river.
Each thing goes on moving into each other thing. It is impossible to draw
lines where one thing ends and another begins; there are no demarcating
lines -- there cannot be. So all distinctions are only for practical
purposes, they have no existential value.
This is the first thing to be understood. This is very fundamental to the
Taoist alchemy. Once this is understood, then the whole alchemy of Taoism
becomes comprehensible. Then the lower can be transformed into the higher,
because the lower contains the higher already. The baser metal can be
transformed into gold because nothing is separate -- the baser contains the
gold already. As above, so below; as below, so above.
The very idea that all is interconnected makes transformation possible. If
things are not interconnected then there is no possibility of any
transformation. If the world consists of the philosopher Liebnitz's monads
-- windowless, separate, atomic individuals, not connecting with each other
at all because they are windowless -- then there is no possibility of any
transformation.
Transformation is conceivable only because you are me, I am you; we
interpenetrate. Can you think of yourself as separate even for a single
moment? You cannot even imagine yourself as separate. The flower cannot be
separated from the tree; the moment it is separated it dies. The tree cannot
be separated from the earth. The earth cannot be separated from the sun. The
sun cannot be separated from other stars, and so on and so forth. You
separate the leaf, and the leaf dies. You separate the flower, the flower
dies. You separate the tree from the earth, the tree dies. You separate the
earth from the sun, and the earth dies.
Death means separation. Life means no separation. Hence the ego is bound to
die because that is your idea of separation. To think of one's self in terms
of ego is the only cause of death -- because the ego is already dead. You
can go on flogging the dead horse, but for how long? It is going to die; it
is already dead, that's why it is going to die. That which is alive in you
cannot die; life is eternal. But life is not yours, you cannot possess it.
Life belongs to all. Life has a vastness, infinity. Death is tiny, death is
individual; life is universal. So when you live, you are part of the
universe, and when you die you die only because you think you are separate.
The more you feel part of the whole, the more life you will have.
Jesus says, 'Come to me and I will give you life abundant.' What is the
secret of life abundant? The secret is: die as the ego, disappear as a
separate entity, and the whole universe and all that it contains is yours.
Stop possessing, and all is yours. Possess, and you are tiny and limited,
and you are going to die. The secret of becoming more alive consists of a
single phenomenon of dropping the idea of separation. And whenever it
happens, you feel life becoming aflame in you.
Even if it happens in small measures... If you fall in love with somebody,
life is aflame in you. And it is not that much has happened, just two
persons are feeling one. Learn the lesson from love. Just two persons
feeling one, and what joy, and what ecstasy! Think. If you fall in love with
the whole then how much ecstasy and how much joy is going to happen! That is
life abundant, life infinite.
Separate yourself... There are a few people who live so egoistically that
they cannot love; they are the most miserable people in the world. My
definition of hell is; to live in separation is hell. To live in
non-separation is heaven. To disappear completely, utterly into the whole,
is MOKSHA, NIRVANA. It is ultimate freedom.
The second thing to be understood: that life is polar. That is also very
fundamental to the Taoist approach. But the polarity is not that of
opposition. The polarity means that the opposites are complementary to each
other, they support each other. Life cannot exist without death, hence death
is not the enemy. How can death be the enemy of life if life cannot exist
without it? It has to be the friend. It prepares the ground for life: it
helps life, it provokes life, it challenges life.
Just think. If your body were going to live for eternity, you would not
live at all, you would have an infinity to postpone everything. 'Why love
today if there is tomorrow? And if tomorrow is infinite, then why bother?
Why dance today? We will see tomorrow.' Just imagine. If your bodily life
were going to be eternal, your postponement would become eternal.
You cannot postpone because you are not certain whether there is going to
be any tomorrow or not. Nobody knows whether the next breath will come in or
not, hence only foolish people postpone. The wise man lives, and the wise
man lives herenow. He cannot afford postponement because he knows 'Only this
moment is mine, only this very moment is mine. The next moment may be, may
not be. How can I postpone? How can I say "tomorrow"?'
The foolish man postpones until tomorrow, the wise man lives now. The wise
man knows no other time than now and no other space than here, and the
foolish man goes into things which could have been postponed for eternity --
he lives them right now. If he is angry, he lives it right now. If he is
loving, he says, 'We will see tomorrow.' All that is stupid he goes on
living, and all that is luminous he goes on postponing. The wise man also
postpones, but he only postpones stupid things.
Gurdjieff used to say to his disciples, 'When my grandfather died I was
only nine years old. He called me close to his death-bed and whispered in my
ear.' He had tremendous love for this small boy. He must have seen the
potential of the boy. He whispered in the ears of the boy, 'I have nothing
to give to you except a simple piece of advice, and I don't know whether you
will be able to understand it right now or not. But remember it! Some day
you may become capable enough, mature enough to understand it. Just remember
it. And it is simple advice. If you want to do anything wrong, postpone it
for twenty-four hours. And if you want to do something right, never postpone
it even for a single moment. If you want to be angry, violent, aggressive,
postpone it for twenty-four hours. If you want to be loving, sharing, do not
postpone it even for a single moment. Just live it right now, immediately!'
And Gurdjieff used to say to his disciples, 'That simple advice transformed
my whole life.' How can you be angry if you can postpone it for twenty-four
hours? It is impossible. To be so calm and quiet as to postpone it for
twenty-four hours is enough guarantee that you are not going to be angry.
And who can be angry if he can postpone it for twenty-four hours?
Twenty-four hours of contemplation, and the whole absurdity will be plain to
you: the whole thing will look ridiculous.
And Gurdjieff was really transformed by this simple message. Sometimes very
simple messages can transform you, but you have to live them.
Life exists because there is death. Death gives intensity to life. Death
challenges life, it provokes you to live, and to live to the maximum, at the
optimum, because -- who knows -- there may be no tomorrow. Death is always
provoking you, goading you to live, and to live totally. Then death is not
against life but a friend.
So is the case with all the polarities: the negative and the positive, love
and hate, beauty and ugliness, day and night, summer and winter. And so is
the case with man and woman. Man cannot be without the woman, and the woman
cannot be without the man. They are part of one dialectical process. Between
these two poles there is both attraction and repulsion, because attraction
and repulsion cannot be separated. Hence you feel attracted towards the
woman or towards the man and repulsed at the same time. A part of you wants
to be with the woman, a part of you wants to be alone.
You are always hesitating. If you are with the woman or with the man, you
start longing for the freedom to be on your own, to be alone. Suddenly you
become very interested in being alone and free, and you don't know where
this desire to be free is coming from. The woman or the man, the other, is
provoking it. The moment you have left the other, this desire, this longing,
this great longing to be alone will disappear. And then you are surprised,
really surprised. When you are alone you simply feel lonely. You don't feel
that joy that you had contemplated, you don't see any freedom; you simply
see loneliness surrounding you. And your whole existence becomes cold,
frozen, dark. Again the desire arises to be with the other. Now you hanker
for love, for togetherness.
This is the problem between man and woman. They are attracted and repulsed
together, simultaneously. They want to come to be together and they want to
be separate and alone, on their own. Hence the constant conflict between man
and woman.
Marriage is a love-hate affair, an attraction-repulsion affair. If the
marriage lasts long, it can only last if there are mini-divorces happening
every day -- only then can it last long. If the man and the woman have
decided not to fight, then it is a plastic marriage. They will be together,
they will manage to be together, but they will never be together in reality;
they will never know those moments of unity. They are only pretending. They
are being polite, but not true, not authentic.
Marriage is a kind of intimate enmity. It is an intimate enmity, it is a
friendly fight, it is a war. Yes, between two wars there are peaceful
moments too, and they are beautiful because of the two wars.
Couples go on fighting -- that's how they keep alive the flame of love.
Once they fight, they go away from each other. When they are far away from
each other, in their psychologies, they start hankering for the other, they
start missing the other. Then they start seeking and groping for the other.
Then they come close, and very close, because they have tasted something of
loneliness. Now they want to be very close. Once they have tasted of
closeness they want to be separate again.
So don't be worried about it. It is a fundamental phenomenon. You cannot
escape it. The only way to escape is to have a pretend marriage, which is
not a true marriage. 'Remain polite to each other.' It is a kind of
contract, that 'I need you and you need me,' that 'I will scratch your back
and you scratch my back' -- that's all -- 'because I need you and you need
me. You are my security, I will be your security.' It is a legal contract
but not marriage.
This is the second fundamental to be understood before you can enter into
the sutras.
And the third and the most important thing: the third fundamental is that
no man is only man and no woman is only woman. Man is both, woman is both;
both are both. Man contains a woman within him, and so is the case with a
woman: the woman contains a man within her. So it is not only a question of
the outside man or outside woman, it is also an inner phenomenon, because
the outer and the inner correspond. Just as I said 'as below, so above', I
can say 'as outer, so inner'.
Your inner reality is also the same as your outer reality: they correspond,
they balance. Now more complexity arises because each man has a woman within
him, and he has to come to terms with her. It is not just a question of
having a woman outside that you love; otherwise things would have been less
complicated.
