sunyavada (Skt. śūnyavāda; T. stong pa nyid smra ba; C. Kong zong 空宗; J. Kūshū; K. Kong chong), literally “Proponent of the Empty,” is a term that was used to refer to proponents of the Madhyamaka school. The term was commonly used by opponents of Madhyamaka (both Buddhists and non-Buddhists), who regarded the Madhyamaka view as a form of nihilism.[1]
The term śūnyatādarśana was used by Candrakirti to refer to "the philosophical school of emptiness".[1]
