Every morning, afternoon, and evening, Zen Master Splosh would give a discourse upon Samadhi. She only ever said one word.
"SPLOSH" She said to the scholars.
"SPLOSH" She said to the pundits.
"SPLOSH" was the only answer she ever gave.
One day a scholar stood up and cried, "What is the meaning of this! Please Zen Master Splosh authenticate your utterances."
"SPLOSH" she said.
"This is no Zen Master," cried the scholar, "She is a fool, an idiot, a charlatan. She has obviously never read a single book in her life."
The other scholars began to listen to him.
"It is more than likely," continued the scholar, "that she cannot even read!"
"SPLOSH" smiled Zen Master Splosh.
Then she drew a deep breath in and spoke.
"On the contrary my dear learned friend," she spoke eloquently, "I have read the entire library at the Compahula Library. The entire works of all the great sages and mystics throughout time and space. I have even read the entire works of the lesser known mystics like Zen Master Biscuit."
The students and scholars looked amazed. Could this really be the true?
"Then what," stammered the scholar," is the meaning of SPLOSH?"
"My dear learned scholar," replied the twinkling Zen Master Splosh, "the meaning of the word SPLOSH is the ultimate extracted and condensed teachings of all the great works."
"But I have never read of it!" replied the scholar.
"It is the sound of the drop entering the Ocean." smiled Zen Master Splosh, "And that concludes today's discourse. And also yesterdays."
