- HEALING THE CHAKRAS -

UNDERSTANDING THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CHAKRAS

When you have read the information on this website about the chakras and have begun to understand the characteristics of each chakra, then we can begin to relate our life issues to the corresponding chakras. If we have problems with certain areas of life, then we need to heal the chakra that relates to that area of life.

Starting at the base chakra (red) and ascending, each chakra allows an increasingly expansive experience of life.

Blockages in a chakra will reduce the level of communication with the experiences of that chakra.

Blockages are attitudes towards the areas of life that the chakra represents.

Attitudes are learned behaviours that we absorb from our interactions in life.

We inherit deeply ingrained attitudes from our family situations and our cultures and societies.

Healing can help us to reevaluate our learned behaviours and attitudes and assess whether they are still relevant or useful to our present day lives.

HOW DO WE HEAL A CHAKRA?

There are four approaches to healing a chakra:

  1. Actively working at improving that area of life that we feel needs healing.
  2. Working directly at healing and improving the chakra, using Integrated Chakra Management Healing Techniques, visualisation, yoga, and meditation.
  3. A balanced synthesis of the first two approaches.
  4. Employing a professional healer to aid us.

We know that we have problems with a chakra, and thus the life issues that the chakra corresponds to, when we experience pain, discomfort, numbness, or tension in that area of our bodies that relates to that chakra.

Our biology is our biography, so our discomforts and tensions are indeed useful guides to healing our chakras.

AN EXAMPLE.

John is having difficulty communicating effectively at home and at work. It is very frustrating for him and it is making him unhappy. He identifies that this is a fifth (throat) chakra issue. He decides to go about healing this area of his life by using the third approach listed above. He decides to practice Hatha Yoga postures to improve the fifth chakra and also to actively decide to begin to communicate more effectively and with more relevant quality.

To help him start on this journey, he decides to book himself six sessions with a healer, but he realizes that the healer is only able to get him started and keep him going if he experiences difficulties with his own efforts. He is wise enough to realise that the only true and lasting transformation will be through his own efforts. To help him realise his goal, he also decides to set aside 5 minutes a day to meditate, so that he can attempt to prevent his mind from repeating his negative programming in the fifth chakra. Meditation can be used as a "brake" on our usual behavioural routines. Meditation can become a foundation stone of our transformation. Meditation allows us to watch ourselves and this helps us to begin to change old and tiresome behaviours.

John uses his meditation breaks to increase his awareness of the workings of his mind and this helps him to implement the changes that he desires.

TRAINING THE CHAKRAS

When we meditate or observe our behaviour we can begin to witness how our chakras are behaving and interacting with others. We need to do this honestly and without judgment so that we can understand how our mind is working. We can begin to understand the kinds of programs that we have in our chakras and how these programmed behaviours are effecting our lives. It is only through understanding the way we actually are, that we can begin to adjust our behaviour. We can soon learn how to change our learned behaviour by adjusting the types of attitudes that we have to our chakras.

ICM and THE INTEGRATION AND BALANCING OF THE CHAKRAS.

In reality, the chakras all work together to provide us with our life experiences. Most people have some blockages in at least some of the chakras. So it is good to use a holistic system, like ICM, that includes healing and improvement with all the chakras.

If a chakra is too open, then we will have a tendency to get stuck in that behaviour - we may be addicted to that chakra and the life issues that it represents, we may be unable to stop the activity. And so too if a chakra is blocked or is closed, then we will experience aversions in that area and have difficulties with those aspects of life, we may not be able to get this activity working, we are unable to express ourselves in that arena of life.

When we are out of balance then we will experience frustration and may even get angry with ourselves. We may affirm to ourselves that we are "no good". This is not the case. We are simply closed, blocked, or damaged in one or more chakras.

ICM teaches us to integrate and balance our chakras so that we can experience a more balanced and healthy life.
