Buddhist paths - there are many formulations of the Buddhist path to liberation. The basic formulation common to all traditions is:
The Eightfold Path is basis for all other expressions of the path. All other formulations of the path are subsumed under the Eightfold path.
Two other general formulations that are common to both the Sanskrit and Pali traditions are:

- Sanskrit tradition: Five paths
The following schemes present the path of the bodhisattva:
- Pali tradition: Ten paramis
- Sanskrit tradition: Six paramitas
