| BUDDHI | Intellect. Logical and rational thinking. Decision making and discriminative faculty of the mind. Intoxicants, like alcohol, reduce the control that the intellect has on the system, this is why we often act irrationally when we are intoxicated. |

Feeling of being an individual. Soul - yet most enlightened people have pointed to the heart center as the home of the embodied soul. Perhaps the Ahamkara is the experience of the individual mind. |
